Getting The Winning Bid At eBay Counts For Nothing?
Getting The Winning Bid At eBay Counts For Nothing?

It has already become a common scenario when a dealership is refusing to sell their car to an eBay bidder who has rightfully won it in an auction. This issue may look simple at first, but upon further investigation it becomes apparent that the dealership might even have the right to refuse to sell their car to the final bidder. John McKee is the name of that unfortunate final bidder that has won such an auction.

It was a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 for $56,600, or so he thought. In reality, once he called the dealership, the sales manager - Matt Kinder told him that he will only receive this car if he paid $69,500. Seems pretty ridiculous, doesn't it? Actually, in the state of Arizona all auctions of goods are presumed to be with reserve. So, the dealership had every right to refuse to sell their car.

However, one could argue that this contradicts the law of "offer and acceptance." This law states that if a buyer wants to buy a product at a certain price, the seller can either accept or decline. If the seller accepts, he is legally obligated to sell that product at the agreed price. When McKee has won the Corvette with the final bid of $56,600, he received an email of congratulations on the purchase.

Whether McKee will take this case to court remains unknown, however we do know that buying a car on an eBay auction can be much more trouble than it's worth, so beware!

    2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype Unleashed

New Corvette is not an every day thing. Knowing that and the fact that the automaker along with its designers, Pratt and Miller and Grand-Am developed the 2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype, the world expects a lot from this car. While the model is to participate in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series next season, it is making its debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on January 28.

According to Mark Kent, the General Motors Racing Director, the automaker co-worked with chassis builders Riley, Coyote and Dallara while developing the 2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype. The model shares with a roadgoing Corvette nothing, but a few styling cues including a split rear window. And while the new Corvette might not be quicker than the predecessor, it is definitely more attractive. As stated by the Chevrolet vice president, Jim Campbell, racing and performance are the main principles of Chevy, and Corvette Daytona Prototype's participation in Grand-Am is a great opportunity.

There are four teams which will run the new 'Vette: SunTrust Racing, Action Express Racing, Spirit of Daytona Racing, and GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing. Looking back at all of the Corvette's trophies, we can only get excited and expect more from new race car. The 2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype will go through testing on November, 16.
