It attaches to your Wrangler's tailgate, enabling the tray to carry up to 75 lbs. of cargo. The Tailgate Rack Bracket works great with Bestop's Oversize Tire Carrier, and can be used simultaneously with Bestop's Cargo Rack Bracket Kit and Overhead Storage Rack.

Obvious places for storage in a Wrangler are usually filled with gear, so you have to be creative to find more. Lucky for you "creative" perfectly describes the folks at Bestop. They looked at a Wrangler and realized there was plenty of space, if you could figure out how to use it. The Tailgate Rack Bracket and Universal Rack Tray (sold separately) is one of the ideas they came up with. The brackets attach to the tailgate and support the tray over the spare tire, creating up to 75 lbs. of additional carrying capacity and making productive use of what was once wasted space.
The sturdy 6061 T6 aviation grade aluminum brackets are attached to the tailgate with the included hardware. Installation of the brackets requires drilling on 2003 and newer models. The Tailgate Rack Bracket comes with detailed, illustrated instructions. It can be used at the same time with Bestop's Cargo Rack Bracket Kit and Overhead Storage Rack. The bracket is covered by a limited 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
