When a wheel of your vehicle hits an obstacle, the energy generated by this force is transferred to the spring and makes it oscillate. If oscillations are not controlled, the grip between the wheels and the road surface may be lost. Shock absorbers decrease spring oscillations by pushing oil through special holes.
