409 SS H-Pipe with Catalytic Converters (HFM26E) by Pypes®. Main Piping Diameter: 2.5". Comes with catalytic converters. An H-pipe is an improved version of the old ‘balance tube’. V8’s fire out of sync, so when all the pressure is on one side of the exhaust and the pressure gets released through the vacant opposite side exhaust, the heads are able to breathe better. This ‘scavenging’ process is what makes crossovers a big plus in an exhaust system. H-pipes improve low end torque. They also make your ride a bit louder and blatty.
