The windlass works well except for the following: It was installed with 30ft of 1/4 inch G4 chain plus 1/2 inch 3 strand medium nylon line. The anchor is lower than the windlass when sitting on the pulpit. To get the anchor off the pulpit it has to be pushed off and then it will free fall to the bottom and stop. The retrieving is quite fast and powerful however when the chain comes up it jams in the capstan. The only way it will not jam is by holding the lever up and out of the way which is not the thing to do because of possible injury to ones fingers/hand.
