Not all repair parts are created equal. That may sound obvious, however, such a statement doesn’t necessarily make it easy to make a decision when faced with a choice. While we have prided ourselves for years with offering you the finest and broadest selection of aftermarket repair parts, we have folded something new into the mix, which are genuine OEM replacement parts.

Our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are exactly the same as were used by the factory that built your vehicle, and they are identical to the factory replacement parts you will find at your local authorized dealership. The difference is, instead of venturing out to a brick-and-mortar location, with all the attendant disadvantages of that journey, you can make your selections and complete your purchase from the comfort of your home and the device of your choice, whether that be a PC, tablet, or phone.

We just stated above that you now have greater choice and can decide whether you want aftermarket or OEM parts. Why would you choose OEM? There are a number of good reasons. First, some car owners prefer the ‘factory original’ part. It’s not that they don’t trust the aftermarket part, not at all. It’s just that they feel that at this moment in time, the best choice for their car or truck is the part that was made by the same company that supplied the factory part.

Another reason to choose OE (we use “OEM” and “OE” interchangeably) parts is that for many late-model cars, especially current model year ones, the aftermarket may not yet have the parts that you need. The OE manufacturers do, of course, as they are supplying both the factories and the retailers with these parts.

Body and sheet metal components are two particular categories where the aftermarket is not always able to provide a thorough selection, and again we’ll call out this advantage especially for newer cars and trucks. Items like hoods, fenders, door skins, glass, and outside mirrors, all of which are susceptible to collision damage, can usually be found quite easily on our OEM product pages.

While the aftermarket offerings provide a comprehensive selection of frequently-used maintenance and repair parts (filters, belts, hoses, spark plugs, bearings, seals, and various brake, suspension, and exhaust items), it’s our ability to offer the less-frequently-needed parts that makes our variety of choice so complete. You’ll find schematics on the OEM pages that can help you identify, by manufacturer part number, many of the associated parts you might need that the aftermarket is just not equipped to offer.

Our OEM categories include: engine parts, transmission and drivetrain parts, ignition and electrical parts, exterior body parts, interior parts, brake, steering, and suspension parts, as well as lights and wheels. And we made sure that finding the OEM parts is as simple as possible for you. When you key in your vehicle’s year, make, and model from our homepage and select your desired category under Repair Parts (for example, “brakes”), the results page will have the “OE” link at the top (when applicable). At present, we have OE parts available for most domestic, European, and Asian brand cars and light trucks, and we are working on plans to expand that coverage to encompass 100% of the vehicles on the road! At CARiD, we will always give you a choice, and now, if your choice is “OEM”, you can rest assured that you can find the OEM parts you want, combined with our renowned value, selection, and service.
