The Jeep Comanche, a pickup based on the Cherokee compact SUV, was released in 1986. It was distinguished by a typical pickup design. In the first year of production, the Jeep Comanche was available with 2.5-liter and 2.8-liter V6 gasoline engines and a 2.1-liter turbo diesel. In 1987, the 2.8 L V6 engine was replaced by a new fuel-injected 4 L inline-six that delivered 173 HP (later 190 HP). The pickup was available with rear wheel and four-wheel drive. This great vehicle was really popular because of its reliability and excellent off-road performance.
