Cold Air Intake System by AEM Intakes®. To deliver cooler air to the engine, this air intake system places the air filter outside the engine compartment. Cooler air is denser than warm air and so contains more oxygen, which results in better combustion and more power.

Features

  • Delivers more oxygen to the combustion chamber by drawing in cooler air
  • Custom designed and engineered to deliver maximum power for each specific vehicle
  • Every system includes the innovative, oil-free, high-flow AEM Intakes Dryflow™ air filter
  • Dyno-tuned air intake pipe constructed of mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum for smooth airflow
  • Air filter lasts up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required (depending on driving conditions)
  • Comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware and comprehensive installation instructions
  • Backed by the AEM Intakes limited lifetime warranty
  • Proudly manufactured in the USA

It’s a well known fact that cooler air is denser and contains more oxygen. Cooler engine air inlet temperatures result in more power. But your stock, restrictive engine air intake system delivers hot air from the engine compartment! The answer to this dilemma is to install an AEM Intakes Cold Air Intake system. AEM Intakes starts by positioning its high-flow Dryflow air filter outside the engine compartment, to draw in the coolest air possible. AEM Intakes performs extensive temperature testing for each application to determine the best filter location. But that’s not the end of the story. The Dryflow air filter is connected to the engine air intake by an aluminum tube tuned in length and diameter to match the engine’s intake resonance. The combination of cold air and tuned free-flowing intake tube results in increased horsepower and torque. And there’s no need to worry about problems with the engine control system when installing an AEM Intakes Cold Air Intake. During development, AEM Intakes monitors the engine control system fuel correction factors and sensors on each vehicle to make sure you won’t get any CHECK ENGINE lights. Like all AEM Intakes air intake systems, the AEM Intakes Cold Air Intake system is made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Every AEM Intakes air intake system comes with the innovative, oil-free, high-flow AEM Intakes Dryflow air filter. Each Dryflow filter is engineered to exceed the normal flow capacities of the engine it is required for when clean, while providing outstanding filtration and dust holding capacity. And the flow requirements are exceeded by a wide margin, which allows you plenty of leeway for engine breathing modifications, without needing to worry about having enough intake airflow. The AEM Intakes Dryflow filter is constructed of a unique non-woven polyester-based filter media supported by aluminum screen wire for rigid structural strength. This filter media doesn’t require oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and actually sheds dirt under engine vibration, unlike cotton-gauze, which holds onto contaminants until you clean the filter. When it’s time to clean, simply tapping the filter a few times will remove most of the dirt from the filter pleats. Then spray the filter with AEM’s environmentally friendly, mild, all-purpose cleaner. Rinse the filter with clean water and allow to dry, or blow dry with compressed air. Best of all, the Dryflow filter requires no oiling, so there’s never a chance of over-oiling. The Dryflow filter is extremely durable and will withstand almost unlimited cleanings.

Founded in 1987 by John Concialdi (J.C.) and Bob Sullivan as a tuning performance shop, AEM Intakes® offers cutting-edge products that are rigorously tested in its laboratories, and the company confirms its results on the asphalt of the track. Put an AEM cold air intake on a 2017 Pilot and it throws a check engine light when it's cold out. Comes and goes.

Easy assembly, it looks mean, and beefy.

Super Easy Installation With a Few Draw Backs
AEM® - Aluminum Gunmetal Gray Cold Air Intake System with Red Filter
The only hard part about installing was getting the ac fuel line disconnected. I was driving down the road and my check engine light came on so I went and got it checked and it said my engine was running lean.

Loud as a motherf*cka:) got this bady boy three years ago.

I was hesitant going with an expensive cold air intake, especially one over $100, as I had only had my car for a few months beforehand. But I can now say, with confidence, if you can afford it, seriously get it. Instillation was 6 steps and took 20 minutes to install. Parts are of good quality, especially their powder-coated red intake. Along with that, with it installed, the turbo can really stretch it's legs, making all the whistling noise to make car guys and girls go mad with enjoyment. I have driven my car 20k miles since the install, and am about to drive across the country, but I seriously can not see myself driving with this much enthusiasm without this intake.

Great add on, but...
AEM® - Aluminum Gunmetal Gray Cold Air Intake System with Red Filter
The install was simple and straightforward but a few things occurred that I did not expect or foresaw in the instructions. All the parts were included and clearly labeled, however, I did end up having to reuse the same grommets from the factory air box since the included ones were too big to be a snug fit and had a lot of movement when installing the heat shield. Was very grateful for the clamps that came with this unit as the factory clamps sucked to get in a tight space. Now the sound, on the other hand, is awesome. It clearly makes the turbo noises distinct when spooling it up and letting off the throttle and hearing the turbo expel the excess air. The deduction of one star is due to the fact that when I floor it above 3k rpm, there is an annoying high pitch tone that is quite aggravating. If I had known that that was going to be a possibility I'd have not bothered with a CAI and kept the stock intake. AEM did confirm that it is natural as the intake of air is a lot less restrictive but could definitely do without it.

My Chrysler is straight pipe but pair it with this will make it sounds louder and more aggressive and feel faster.

Definitely improves the engine performance and enhances the exhaust sound

It is pretty cool the sound it makes when you step on throttle is nice I had it done and installed in about a hour it really is not hard to install only I had a problem with my crankcase breather hose that was hard as a rock and would not change format in direction I hadron put into the pipe but I had an extra hose laying around and just cut it and switched it out and bam she fit perfectly. So overall it is good I am satisfied with it
