2008 Mazda Miata MX-5 Custom Dash Kits

I thought it would look more like wood. It has more of a plastic look to it then wood. I bought the full set, but I will not install it all. Have not installed it yet. Weather is too cold outside to install right now. My car is a Mazda Mx-5 a two passenger sports car. The car is all black....inside and out. I thought that installing the dark mahogany wood dash would cut some of the black out. I taped the dash kit in place temporarily, and took pictures.Then took some pieces away. Taking pictures each time. Until I found the look I was wanting. The entire dash kit (temporarily installed) was too much. All so it looked too cheep. It looked more shiny plastic then wood. I eliminating some of the bigger parts of the dash kit. It helped to take away some of the plastic look. All so as I said. I only wanted to offset the black interior. Not cover it completely. Maybe with a larger car interior. You would not have this problem of the plastic look. The mx-5 has a really small interior. I don't regret buying the full kit, to the basic kit. Some of the parts I am using are not in the basic kit. Note by vacuum packing the parts to the cardboard's. The larger parts are very, very hard to unstick from the cardboard. It is not necessary to use that type of tape when you are vacuum packing. All so shipping a full kit for $33.70...OK. But then charging me $30.64 shipping for SIX small pieces that were added in the same box of the full kit! A real ripoff! CARiD gave excellent after sale service. Very good communication.
