EAS™ Turbo Timer (98612) by Edge®. When your trip is done, this timer automatically keeps your turbo engine idling long enough to execute the cool-down period needed to avoid premature turbo wear and failure. You can remove your key, lock the car and walk away, and the engine shuts off after a pre-determined amount of time or when a specific cooler temperature is reached. Designed for use with gas and diesel versions of CS and CTS monitors.
Notes
- Turbo timers are only available to work with the CS and CTS product lines. In order to use the turbo timer you must have an EAS Starter kit (part # 98602). EAS Starter kits come with all Juice with Attitude CS and CTS products and the EAS Starter Kit with Expandable EGT (part # 98603).

Any mechanic will tell you most turbocharger wear occurs unnecessarily when the engine is shut off hot after highway or performance driving. Motor oil that circulates through the turbo can bake itself onto rotating parts and other areas that have reached higher-than-average temperatures once they stop moving. Carbon buildup occurs which causes friction, clogging and overall hotter running temperatures – ultimately leading to extreme stress and part failure. Idling the engine for several minutes before shutting off prevents this danger by allowing coolant to circulate through the engine and effectively drop temperatures of mechanical parts and oil. But who has the time to sit there and wait each and every instance?
Once connected to your CS or CTS unit, the Edge Turbo Timer keeps your engine running while you remove the key, lock your vehicle, and walk away. You can program the controller to shut the engine off automatically after a predetermined amount of time, or when temperatures inside your turbo drop to a specific safe temperature. The Turbo Timer comes with a sensor on one end that screws directly into your turbocharger to measure temperature, and a connector on the other end that snaps into the EAS Starter Kit cable (sold separately).
