The unique, heavier, Sailcloth fabric makes one of the quietest soft tops on the market. The secret is in the unique multi-ply fabric. Each ply plays a different role, but together they reflect road sounds, absorb wind noise, and prevent buffeting to create a silencing effect that must be experienced to be believed. The heavier, multi-ply fabric also increases insulation, for a cabin that stays warmer in the cold winter months, but also feels cooler in the summer heat.
The top is manufactured using industrial strength thread for solid, durable construction and all seams are sealed so they remain water-tight. The 30-mil DOT (Department of Transportation) approved windows meet U.S. and European regulations, they're heat sealed to prevent leaks, and available with a 31% tint for a custom look. Heavy-duty zippers are used to remain durable even after many removal and installation cycles. If replacement door skins are included, they attach to the factory original door frames with hook and loop pads.
The Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-Top comes with detailed, illustrated instructions to guide you through an easy installation that should only take about 1 1/2 hours, even if you've never installed a soft top before (at temperatures of 72°F or higher, below that temperature the fabric may contract somewhat, making it more difficult to fit to the vehicle). The Sailcloth top is backed by a limited 2-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
