Look For an Authentic Injen Tuned Intake Badge
First of all look for an Authentic Injen Tuned intake badge to see if you have an Injen Tuned intake. Injen went through the trouble of acquiring four United States patents for their unique tuning process. Injen utilizes MR TECHNOLOGY and AIR FUSION to precisely tune the air intake tract, so that the extra air flow (CFMS) does not alter the stock MAF switch readings, avoiding a check engine light (CEL). This patented step-down process is critical in determining air fuel ratios and fueling parameters, and a sure fire way to determine if you have an authentic Injen product. All of the performance without the headaches!
Look For The CNC Precision Machined MAF Pads with "Injen" Machined Into The Metal
Part of the tuning process is determining the size and location of the MAF pad. All Injen MAF pads are precisely machined for precision fitment and come with the “Injen” name on them. They are strategically located to precisely register the correct amount of air volume and air speed that is traveling in a linear direction.
Injen'S Dry Super-Nano Web Filters All Come With An Injen Logo Embossed On The Automotive Grade Urethane
Be sure to look for the “Injen” logo somewhere on your dry Super-Nano Web filter. These filters are dry and do not require a cleaner or oil re-charger kit. Do NOT OIL our Super-Nano Dry filters. This superior filter is a surface loading filter, to clean them, you simply reverse the air flow. Use 35 psi air pressure and blow your filter out from the inside. Another way to clean the Injen filter is to use a common house-hold shop vacuum with a wand adapter and simply clean the surface of the filter. You will see all the loose contaminants come right off and you might notice some discoloration over time. Another Injen feature on the Super-Nano Web filter is, the built in Velocity Stack Adapter, that streamlines the filtered air efficiently into the intake tract. If you will place your hand inside the mouth of the filter you will feel a smooth transition on the inside neck of your filter, this eliminates air turbulence.
Injen Silicone Coupler Hoses Are Embossed With The Injen Name And Fit Perfectly
All Injen products utilize Injen Silicone Coupler Hoses. You will see that they are all embossed with the INJEN name and fit correctly over the tube they were designed to fit on. Injen Silicone Hoses vary from two to four ply silicone hoses and you can see the individual layers by looking into the diameter of the hose coupler. Additionally you will notice the sturdy quality over a knock-off type of a hose that does not have a fabric thread layer.
Injen Hose Clamps
A sure fire way to spot a knock-off is to look at the details! Most Injen Technology clamps are custom made for Injen. They are made of stainless steel for longevity and great looks AND have “INJEN” embossed on the screw housing.
90 Degree Injen Hoses
Injen has been fighting KNOCK-OFFS for years and by paying attention to the details, you will be able to spot them easily. Our hoses and custom elbows will more than likely have the INJEN name stenciled on them in plain sight. Additionally many of our vacuum hoses also have “Injen” embossed on the outside diameter.
Injen Boxes
The very first thing you will notice when your Injen intake shows up is the big sturdy Red Box if you ordered an IS Series, or an RD Series, or an SP Series Injen intake. If you ordered a PF Series intake, more than likely your intake will arrive in a strong Injen Black Box. All of our boxes have our Logo in plain sight. They also have our Injen Part number on a label at one end of the box. The label will have a description of the product and an image of the product. By looking at the label you will also confirm that you received the correct intake for your application. All of our products are application specific, we do not recommend that you install an intake on a vehicle, if the intake was designed for another vehicle.
