ForkLift™ Roof Bike Rack by Yakima®. In the past if you wanted the stability of a fork bike mount rack, but your vehicle had factory crossbars, you were out of luck...but no more. The ForkLift is Yakima's fork bike mount rack made specifically to fit all crossbars, including round, square, factory, and aero. It's integral clamps are adjustable to fit any shape crossbars, making it super easy to install on your roof rack, with no tools required. A bike up to 40 lbs. with a standard 100mm x 9mm quick release front hub is just as easy to mount on the rack, with the lockable skewer (SKS lock core sold separately) and easy to adjust sliding wheel tray that fits a wide range of bike lengths. A fork bike mount rack provides the most stable form of bike transport because the skewer firmly holds the fork in place. And since there's no contact with the frame with this type of carrier, you won't have to worry about damage to your bike's frame or finish. The bike is also much lighter and easier to lift onto the roof without the weight of the front wheel. Many also think a fork mount is more aerodynamic than an upright rack. It used to be that you couldn't get the benefit of these advantages if your vehicle had factory crossbars, but now that Yakima has created the ForkLift Roof Bike Rack, everyone can enjoy the benefits of a fork bike mount.

The ForkLift was specially designed to securely attach to all crossbars, including round, square, factory, and aero bars. It has special, easy to use clamps built in to the rack that can be adjusted to accommodate any crossbar shape, for a simple installation that doesn't require tools. Just open the slider and loosen the knob to open the jaws. Close the jaws around the crossbar and pass the T-bolt through the opening in the lower jaw. Rotate the T-bolt until it rests in the slot and then turn the knob to tighten the jaws. If you don't get a secure grip, the lower jaw can be repositioned in another slot.

Most bikes up to 40 lbs. with standard 100mm x 9mm quick release front hubs can be quickly and easily mounted to the ForkLift. Insert the skewer through the head, attach the quick release lever and load the bike, with the fork dropouts resting on the skewer and the rear wheel in the wheel tray. Adjust the knob on the quick release lever and close the cover; the adjustment knob and lever can be manipulated from one side of the vehicle, a big advantage when the rack is mounted on a tall vehicle. Secure the rear wheel to the tray with the ratchet tensioned strap; the wheel tray slides to accommodate different length bikes. Yakima's fork adapters (sold separately) can be used to transport bikes with thru axles.

An SKS (Same Key System) lock core (sold separately) can be installed in the skewer cover to lock the bike to the rack. Comprehensive, illustrated instructions are included with the ForkLift Roof Bike Rack, and it's covered by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Product looks good and easy to install. Yakima does have an issue with too long of a tail strap for rear tire that would rub on roof of car, but not your issue.

I have this mounted on my Audi A4 with OEM factory bars and the fit is perfect. I had a problem with other racks that were made for either round or square bars. My OEM bars are large and oval-shaped, and this rack had no problems fitting on. The clamps are very sturdy.
