What is the Difference Between H1, H2, H3, J Series & M Series?

H1: Heavy-duty, strongly recommended for commercial use, available in steel and aluminum, includes ladder accessories. H2: Heavy-duty rack for heavy loads up to 1,000 lbs, only available in aluminum. H3: Low-profile, aerodynamic, wider crossbars, more geared towards recreational use (carrying biking, kayaking, etc), available with or without ladder accessories. J Series: Low-profile, light-duty, aerodynamic, available with or without ladder accessories, only available in aluminum. M Series: Low-profile, light-duty, available in steel or aluminum, available with or without ladder accessories.

What is the Weight Capacity of Vantech Racks?

2-bar racks – 400-500 lbs. 3-bar racks – 600-750 lbs. 4-bar racks – 750-1000 lbs. H2 midsize – 600 lbs. H2 fullsize – 600 lbs.

My Rack is Making a Lot of Noise.

Most noise comes from wind deflecting off of the windshield of the vehicle on to the rack. Find out which rack you have and see below H1 – You can try moving front crossbar forward or backwards by roughly 3 inches on a fullsize van, or you can purchase a wind foil (use crossbar size to determine the size). H2 – You should have received x amount of rubber bar guards, see instructions for reference. Send out if you’re missing them. J Series – You should have received rubber bar guards. Send out if you are missing them. M Series – See below.

What is the Difference Between Steel and Aluminum?

Steel: stronger, heavier, low resistance to corrosion (rust). Aluminum: lighter, high resistance to corrosion (rust), all aluminum racks have reinforced crossbars and are thicker in gauge than their steel counterparts to hold the same weight capacity.

I Have a Minivan or SUV With a Factory Roof Rack and I’M Interested In Vantech OE Clamp-On System, Will this Fit my Vehicle?

Vantech OE system can clamp on to factory roof rails that have at least a 1/2” of space between the rail and roof. The factory roof rails cannot exceed 1.5” tall or 3” wide.

My OE System Rack Doesn't Fit my Factory Roof Rails?

Your luggage rails may need longer bolts than included with the OE system to clamp onto the raised luggage rails, or you may have flushed luggage rails with which Vantech OE system is not compatible.

I Need a Rack For an 07-On Sprinter

If you need a rack for your 07-On Sprinter, you must have the factory roof tracks installed. If you don’t have them, you can purchase them.

I Have a Sprinter Van 07-On, I Need to Purchase the Roof Tracks.

You need to specify if you have a 144” or 170” wheel base van to determine which tracks they need.

I Have a Fullsize Van with Sliding Doors

Vantech racks will not work on fullsize vans with sliding doors. The door slides back to where the mounting brackets get installed.

The Roller for My Nissan NV Low Roof Rack Does not Reach to the Back Of The Truck, Its Too Short.

You need to purchase the 36” roller plates.

I Don’t See Where I Can Mount the Vantech Rack on My Transit Cargo Van?

The roof on a Transit cargo van has paint covering the threaded mounting holes that can be removed with a blade or sharp tool.

Where are Vantech Products Manufactured?

Taiwan, assembled in the USA.

On Vantech Universal Racks, Is There any Specific Place Where I Should Mount the Mounting Bases?

As wide apart as possible without drilling into air bags, or electronics in the roof.

How Long is the Installation Time?

H1 = 30 min. H2 = 2 hours. H3 = 30 min. J Series = 30 min. M Series = 30 min.

Does the Vantech Conduit Carrier Include the Pvc Pipe?

No, it does not.

Can I Purchase a 1-Bar System?

Yes. If you are ordering a 3rd bar for a van with a curved roof, you should specify whether it is going in the front, middle, or rear.
