Gasoline evaporates easily. In fact, according to Sun Oil Company research, a vehicle with a missing or inoperative fuel cap will allow 176 lbs. (22 gallons) of gasoline to evaporate over the course of one year. This fuel vapor was long ago identified as a major pollutant, and the vented gas caps that had been used for decades were changed in the early ‘70s to designs that prevented evaporation of fuel into the atmosphere. These caps have special pressure and relief valves that maintain a specific amount of pressure or vacuum in the tank before relieving. As emission regulations tightened soon it became mandatory to test fuel caps as part of a vehicle emissions inspection.

These fuel cap tester adapters fit most available testers and enable fuel caps to be tested quickly and easily for leaks and compliance with EPA regulations. Stant testers allow testing on nearly 99% of cars and light trucks.

Warranty

Stant Corporation warrants qualifying Stant products against all defects when used on private passenger cars and light trucks under normal operating conditions for as long as such original purchaser owns the vehicle on which they were originally installed. Stant Corporations’ obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the defective product in accordance with this warranty. Cost of removal and installation are not included, and any incidental and consequential damages are excluded under this warranty. This warranty has no cash value. This warranty does not apply to products which have been modified, improperly applied or installed on vehicles used for commercial or racing purposes.

Damage to the product due to abuse, misuse, improper use, inadequate maintenance, or failure to follow published installation, use and service recommendations automatically voids this warranty.

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, LIABILITIES, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AND OBLIGATIONS, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ON THE PART OF STANT CORPORATION. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Any implied warranties you may have under state law are limited to the same duration as this warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusion may not apply to you.

Limited 90-Day Warranty

All other Stant Corporation products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser. This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper installation or normal wear. Stant Corporation will, at its option, repair or replace any Stant branded product which it finds to be defective in material or workmanship. Damage to the product due to abuse, misuse, improper use, inadequate maintenance, or failure to follow published installation, use, and service recommendations automatically voids this warranty.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:
