Universal Alternative Bike Adapter (SR0500) by SportRack®. Adjust length (31" maximum). The Alternative Bike Adapter enables bikes with non-standard frames to be carried by SportRack hanging style hitch and trunk bike racks. The adapter attaches quickly to the bike with push button clamps, then the adapter can take the place of the frame top tube in the rack arm cradles. The adapter is completely adjustable for different frames and features durable rubber collars that attach to the bike stem and seat post.

Girl’s bikes, kid’s bikes, BMX bikes and any other bike with a non-standard frame used to be a challenge to mount in a hanging style hitch mount or trunk mount bike rack. In fact, the only alternative for such bikes was a platform or roof carrier, where the bike could be supported by the wheels. But now, with SportRack’s Alternative Bike Adapter, virtually any bike without a top tube can be safely and securely transported with a hanging style bike carrier. The Alternative Bike Adapter attaches to the bike at the bike stem and seat post, and becomes a stand-in for the top tube, resting in the bike rack cradles.
The telescoping feature enables the Alternative Bike Adapter to fit a wide range of bike frames, while the push button clamps allow fast and secure attachment to the bike. Durable rubber collars and molded rubber pads make sure the adapter won’t damage your bike’s finish. The Alternative Bike Adapter comes with everything required for installation, including detailed instructions. The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product, and warrants the product against manufacturer’s defects in materials or workmanship.
