Sherwood trim products are made to the highest standards in the industry. The company is investing heavily in R&D, determined to lead the development of high quality materials and efficient and precise manufacturing technology for automotive trim products. All dash kit materials have been subjected to extensive UV testing, flammability testing, and abrasion and tensile testing before they have been passed for use in production.
Sherwood produces trim kits for a wide range of applications. 90 percent of the kits are graphic, 2-dimensional kits, fitting all surfaces that are flat or only bend one way. 3D components are used when needed, to cover areas with complex shapes that bend in more than one plane.
Sherwood also offers some unique features that make their panels stand out from the competition. Rather than making cutouts for symbols printed on the original dash, Sherwood prints these symbols on the custom panels before applying the protective polyurethane clear coat. For selected kits Sherwood also uses their proprietary and patented S-Tec Insert Technology. This exclusive feature combines any standard material with a chrome-like insert to create a new, exciting look. The same technology also allows Sherwood to make panels featuring custom logos provided by customers, and to make select kits with decorative stripes that imitate very exclusive marquetry, for an enhanced luxury look.
Sherwood Innovations Inc. was incorporated on February 1st, 1997. Two years later, Sherwood Innovations Inc. purchased the assets of TrimMaster Inc., a major supplier of dash components to auto manufacturers, which provided Sherwood with its own manufacturing capacity. The company moved quickly to expand its line of interior components, and made heavy investments in R&D and testing facilities to develop its proprietary materials and specialized production machinery. All through the rapid growth Sherwood Innovations has put emphasis on improved quality, and the company is now quality certified according to ISO9001, QS9000 and TS16949 standards, the highest quality standard in the industry The company operates out of Toronto, Ontario, producing real dashes, graphic dashes and molded dashes, as well as door handles, port holes, mirror covers, and headlight and taillight trims. In 2009, the company was recognized as a Canadian Innovation Leader by the Canadian National Research Council, for its innovations in the field of automotive trim production. Sherwood now operates a production facility with over 50,000 sq ft of floor space and employs over 75 people, a forth of them being technicians and engineers. Sherwood has also partnered with overseas companies to serve the international auto industry with high quality products delivered just in time, aiming to a position as a global tier one supplier of OE trim products to the major auto manufacturers.
