Z Performance for cars, pickup and SUVs with very limited operating clearance around the drive tires.
Super Z6 is SCC’s latest patented winter traction product. Although it’s based on the company’s experience with the other products in the “Z” family, Super Z6 has one very special quality; it will operate in less than half the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. To be more precise, it requires only 6.3 mm (1/4?) of operating space in the critical inside sidewall area of the tire (typical Class “S” products require 15mm).
Super Z6 is available to fit passenger car, pick-up and SUV tire sizes. Super Z6 offers a unique combination of performance and convenience features for every user:
Chain tensioners are required and included. Extra tensioners are sold separately.
Z Performance at a moderate price
Z is designed to meet the everyday traction product needs of the average customer. Z (Passenger) is available to fit all passenger car tire sizes.
Z offers a unique combination of performance and convenience features for every user:
Chain tensioners are required and included. Extra tensioners or replacement cross members are sold separately.
Extreme winter performance for professionals.
For more than a decade Z-Chain has been the winter traction product choice for police, fire, ambulance and other professional fleets throughout North America. Z-Chain’s fast installation, aggressive traction performance and extreme durability simply outclass all other options.
But the best just keep getting better. Automotive evolution never stops and winter traction products must keep up.
What’s new:
What’s not:
Chain tensioners should not be used.
Z-Chain’s package includes clear, step-by-step installation and removal instructions, as well as waterproof gloves. Replacement cross members are sold separately.
Radial Chain is the “original” cable chain traction product for passenger cars
Originally designed to save sidewall wear on radial tires, Radial Chain was the first real brand name in cable chain winter traction products.
Radial Chain’s “customer friendly” features have quickly made it popular and today it is still recognized as a market leader in:
With a history of performance testing from Alaska to Switzerland and a tire application chart that contains every original equipment tire sold in North America, Radial Chain is an excellent yet affordable choice in winter traction.
Radial Chain’s plastic package is durable, waterproof and recyclable. This package works well for retail display as well as long-term customer use.
Chain tensioners should not be used.
For passenger car and light truck applications
Auto-Trac® can be installed without moving (or jacking up) the vehicle! The patented, ratcheting tightening system automatically tightens the chain while driving. Just connect the inside cable, attach the two outside self-tighteners, and drive! No additional chain tensioners are necessary or recommended.
Auto-Trac® will meet Class “S” clearance requirements on SUVs and pickup trucks, as well as passenger cars (matching the capabilities of most of SCC “Z” cable products). This is possible because of a highly effective, patented tensioning system.
Auto-Trac® cross member links are made of manganese alloy steel, allowing them to be shorter, narrower and lighter than conventional cross members. This reduces “fly-off” during operation and provides more gripping points. The low-mass “D” cross section of the links also contributes to longer wear because the impact of the cross members on the road surface is reduced and the surface area contacting the road is increased.
Chain tensioners should not be used.
Meets S.A.E. Class “S” clearance requirements for passenger cars, pick-ups and SUVs!
Whitestar Alloy can meet Class “S” clearance requirements on SUVs and pickup trucks, as well as normal passenger cars (matched only by SCC’s line of “Z” cable products). This is possible because of an improvement in metallurgy and a redesign of the fastening system.
The cross member links are made of manganese alloy steel, allowing them to be shorter, narrower and lighter than conventional cross members. This reduces “fly-off” during operation and also provides more gripping points. The reduced size and weight of the links also contributes to longer wear because the impact of the cross members on the road surface is reduced.
Whitestar Alloy can be installed without moving (or jacking up) the vehicle! Chain tensioners are required and included. Also included are a waterproof installation mat, waterproof gloves and a few repair links (just in case).
To summarize, here are Whitestar Alloy’s highlights:
Chain tensioners are required and included. Extra tensioners and replacement cross members are available.
Traditional steel link chain for passenger cars
Quik Grip (Passenger) or Type PL (QG1100 Series) is the only ladder-style link chain available that meets S.A.E. Class “S” clearance requirements. Quik Grip is also available with a bar-reinforced link (QG1800 Series). Please remember that the bar-reinforced products will not meet these clearance restrictions.
Quik Grip comes packaged in a reusable plastic carrying case. The case is durable and recyclable and includes complete installation and removal instructions.
Chain tensioners are required and must be purchased separately. Extra tensioners and replacement cross members are sold separately.
Z Performance for light and medium trucks with very limited operating clearance around the drive tires.
Super Z8 is SCC’s newest patented winter traction product. Based on the Super Z6 design, it can operate in about half of the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. To be more precise, it requires only about 8mm (5/16?) of operating space in the critical inside sidewall area of the tire (typical Class “S” products require 15mm).
Super Z8 is available to fit large pick-up and SUV tire sizes, as well as small-to-medium commercial trucks. Super Z8 offers a unique combination of performance and convenience features for every user:
Chain tensioners are required and included. Extra tensioners are sold separately.
Z Performance for SUVs, light trucks and 4x4s that meets Class “S”.
Z® SUV/LT, SCC ZT700 Series, is Z® Passenger series companion product for sport/utility vehicles and pickups. The patented design is the same as the Z® Passengers Series, but features larger and tougher components. Like Z® Passenger, Z® SUV/LT also features a “designed-in” rubber tensioner, so there is no need to stop and retighten.
Z® SUV/LT covers the entire range of light truck tires with only five stock numbers.
Z® SUV/LT offers the same performance features as Z® Passenger:
Z® SUV/LT, Z-Chain and Super Z8 are the only light truck traction products to meet Class “S” clearance requirements for vehicles with limited or low clearance. It’s the most effective product available for SUVs and pick-up trucks with ABS, all-wheel drives, 4x4s and anti-lock brakes.
Z® SUV/LT’s plastic package includes rubber tensioners, step-by-step illustrations for product installation/removal and waterproof gloves.
Chain tensioners are required and included. Tensioners and replacement cross members are sold separately.
The “original” cable chain in a light truck version.
SCC Radial Chain LT is today’s basic winter traction product for the light truck, van and recreational vehicle market. Radial Chain LT can be installed in minutes and removed easily. It utilizes a metal fastening system and offers the same features as Radial Chain for passenger vehicles:
With a history of performance testing from Alaska to Switzerland Radial Chain LT is an excellent yet affordable choice in winter traction.
Note: this traction product does not meet Class “S” requirements. If you need a light truck product that meets Class “S” you need to use Super Z6, Super Z8 and Z-Chain.
Chain tensioners should not be used.
