Purchased a Herculiner truck bed kit from CARiD. Quick service, good price. Read the instructions and like anything you paint it's all about the surface preparation before application. Sanded and wiped down twice with acetone. It was cool on the day I was applying so I decided to do in my garage. I preheated the garage before starting so there would be no source to ignite and fumes. Mixed the can of Herculiner for a good five minutes with a drill paint mixer. Started dabbing the mixture on as per the instructions in the spots the roller would not get to, remixing every 5 minutes or so. The material did not seem to separate at all between mixing, but better safe than sorry. Rolled the rest of the bed, went on easily. You could see spots that just had a thin coat (white truck) and I went back and dabbed a little more on with the brush. It took 6+ hours to dry enough to apply the second coat, it was in the 60's in the garage. A second roller is supplied but a second brush would have been great. Second coat went on easy and looked great. There was just enough to do the box of my Ram 2500's 6.4' box (did not do the tailgate). We will now see how it holds up, I plan on placing a rubber mat on the bottom of my be around my fifth wheel, so would think it should stay like new on the bottom. I also have a cover so it will not see a whole lot of sunlight, so it should stay looking new for a long time.
