This resulted in a great deal of Isuzu vehicles built in Japan and imported to the United States under the badges of GM's divisions. The Pontiac Sunburst was no exception. It was a rebadged Isuzu I-Mark subcompact offered by Pontiac dealerships in Canada between the years 1985 and 1988. The same vehicle was available from GM's Chevrolet division under the Spectrum name at roughly the same time. The Sunburst was replaced with the newly-introduced Passport Optima oriented at young buyers.
