The Peugeot 505 is a large family car produced by the French automaker Peugeot since 1979 and sold in North America in the period from 1980 to 1992. In 1986 the 505 was facelifted and received new interior parts. The sales of Peugeot 505 ended in the US in 1991. The last versions sold had PRV 2.8L V6 engine only. The development of Peugeot 505 engines throughout the eighties was characterized by a very steep increase in power. In terms of diesel engines, the 2.5L Turbo reached 110 hp, whereas petrol engines were available from 117 hp on the 2.1L to 130 hp on the GTI.
