Will a body lift make my vehicle feel "tippy" when I drive?
Short answer: No. The vehicle will drive and handle exactly like it did prior to installing the body lift.
Long answer: One of the benefits of a body lift is that it keeps the factory ride. Unlike other lift systems, a body lift creates clearance for larger tires by only raising the body 1 to 3 inches. The bulk of the vehicle's weight is in the frame and drive train. These components remain in their stock position.
The body blocks used to raise the vehicle are manufactured in a 300 ton or 400 ton Engel injection molders. The material of the body blocks is a high-strength nylon which is reinforced with fiberglass. This system produces extremely durable blocks which are rated to withstand a crush force of over 50,000 lbs. The resulting product produces a strong and stable platform to support the body of the vehicle.
Can you “off-road” a body lifted vehicle?
Short answer: Yes. Vehicles with a body lift retain the same off-road capabilities the vehicle had prior to install and allow for larger tire sizes which improve ground clearance and could result in improved off-road capabilities.
Long answer: Owners of body lifted vehicles will enjoy the added ground clearance their body lift affords along with the stability provided by the minimal center of gravity increase. In off-camber situations drivers want their center of gravity (CG) as low as possible, and the difference between raising the CG less than 1% versus raising the CG over 5% is very noticeable.
