If you experience a pulsation in the brake pedal when braking, chances are one of more of your brake drums have become warped. If you hear a high pitched squeal or squeaks when you brake, you may have glazed drums (and shoes). And if you hear a grinding noise when braking, your shoes may have worn down to the backing plates and are making metal-to-metal contact. On further inspection, you may find that the drums aren't scored too deeply and may possibly only need resurfacing, but keep in mind that a thinner drum will not be able to handle high heat situations during repeated hard braking and may end up warping. And even if you're not experiencing any brake problems and your drums look OK, they may be worn beyond the maximum diameter specification.
Any of the aforementioned conditions requires drum brake replacement, so if your Jeep is ready for new drums we can help with new replacement drums from Omix-Ada. They're the Jeep experts, so you can be assured your drums will install and function perfectly. They're manufactured from the original type metallurgy, and to a diameter and width that will work perfectly with your brake shoes, for strong stopping power, quiet operation, and long term durability.
