When space under the car is at a premium, one of these round, slim mufflers might be the perfect choice. 6” in outside diameter, these can be sandwiched in places a conventional flat or oval muffler can’t, like in the rear under the fenders. They’re also good right after the cat under the floor. Although these two mufflers look the same, they’re very different internally. The mild-tone muffler uses a more conventional chambered design to suppress more exhaust noise, giving you a sedate exhaust note that won’t annoy the neighbors or the cops.
