Product Details

Challenger™ 11" Electric Fan (MC119K) by Maradyne®. A value-priced fan design without a shroud for wide-open mounting possibilities. With four molded-in mounting feet and nylon pull-through ties, it can be mounted directly to the radiator core, making mounting brackets unnecessary. Challenger Series fans are suitable for puller (inside the engine compartment) or pusher (in front of the radiator) service. Simply reverse the wire leads. Replace your engine’s power-robbing belt-driven fan and viscous clutch assembly with this cool-running electric fan. You’ll get more power to accelerate, and improve your fuel economy at the same time.

Your engine doesn’t need a fan at all, if you are traveling more than 20 mph or so; air flowing naturally through the radiator is more than enough to keep you cool, even with the A/C on. Your viscous-coupled belt-driven radiator fan is simply unnecessary, power-robbing extra weight most of the time. The only time you need extra cooling airflow is at traffic lights or anytime you’re moving slowly, like in heavy traffic. Sure, the viscous clutch mostly uncouples when the coolant temperature is low enough, but that fan is still spinning. The belt is using up horsepower through friction and the side thrust on the water pump is wearing it out faster. And you’re the one paying for the gas or diesel to spin it. Lose 20 or more ugly pounds of metal fan, hub and viscous clutch assembly, and replace that whole assembly with a Maradyne electric fan. An electric fan installation might well cost no more than replacing your leaky or non-functioning viscous fan, so here’s a chance not only to save money on the replacement, but also to save gas and improve your performance every day, by installing a Maradyne electric fan system.

Excellent!
This fan works very well, but it should be made in larger sizes. Installing it was fairly easy. The wiring was a bit of a pain though. But it works and I ain't complaining.
