  • High-performance MULTIGRADE F filter media

The main function of a fuel filter is to filter out rust, dust, and other dirt particles contaminants of the flowing fuel. A clogged filter can cause poor vehicle performance, prevent a vehicle from being started, and even cause severe engine damage. Protect your fuel injection system from these symptoms with this high-quality components that removes dust, rust, water, and other dirt particles that lead to wear and tear of the fuel system. This protection is specially needed for sensitive components. Moreover, providing the engine with clean fuel, this filter ensures the operational reliability of the engine and its long-lasting service life.

A MANN filter can reliably filter particles down to 4-5 microns out of fuel and attain 100% water separation with diesel fuel. This is achieved using MANN’s proprietary MULTIGRADE F filter media. Fuel first passes through a meltblown layer of very fine synthetic fibers with an extremely high dust holding capacity. Next, the fuel passes through a very thick cellulose based fine filtration layer where the finest particles are trapped. This combination provides significantly improved dust holding and particle separation compared to standard filters.

Founded in 1941, MANN® started with development and manufacturing of textile and felt filters, strainer disc filters, and a main-flow oil centrifuge. The company's first invention was its innovative air cleaner with radial inlet and integrated pre-separation ring (later named the "MANN Piclon") presented in 1967. With their dedication to the design and engineering of high-performance lube, air, fuel, transmission, and coolant filters, the company never stops researching and developing new filtration solutions. MANN uses only premium materials and state-of-the-art technologies to provide top quality products with the highest degree of durability.

MANN-Filter® WK850 - In-Line Fuel Filter
This fuel filter was the only one listed on CARiD for my 2000 Volvo S80, but when it arrived it was almost twice as long as the original filter. I contacted Volvo who provided me with an alternative Volvo parts number, and I forwarded that info to CARiD who did not carry that one. I was able to install the longer filter that CARiD sent to me after a little fiddling, so it all worked out okay. However, I wasn't sure if CARiD was going to refund the part and shipping costs in their entirety because, according to the standard email response I received from them it wasn't their fault. What they failed to consider was that it wasn't my fault either. The parts manufacturer was unaware that Volvo used 2 different types of fuel filters that year. So buyer be ware that if you rely upon the online specs from parts suppliers and the part you receive turns out to be wrong, you may not be eligible for a total refund including shipping costs. If possible, get the number off the original part and use that as a reference rather than the year, make and model of your car listed on the parts supplier's web site.
