Sketched by Marcello Gandini of Bertone studio, the Lamborghini Countach is one of the most iconic cars ever, being a symbol for the whole 1970-decade and setting the trend for the 1980s. The Countach was unveiled as a prototype at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971, entering production at the end of 1973 with the badge of LP400. The Lamborghini Countach featured an elegant body styling, aerodynamically shaped and introducing the amazing scissor doors; the LP 400 was powered by a longitudinally mounted V12 engine. In 1978, the Countach received a facelift, introducing several design details which altered the original visual aspect. In 1982, an upgraded model, the LP500S, featured a larger engine, but the most performing Countach came in 1985 with even larger 5167cc Quattrovalvole engine. In 1989, the Countach was dropped, replaced by the Lamborghini Diablo.
