Performance Gold™ Wrench-Off Oil Filter (HP-1017) by K&N®. Originally developed for demanding race applications, K&N's Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filter has become a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Most of K&N's automotive oil filters come with a 1 inch nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. The filtering media in the Wrench-Off filter allows higher flow rates while trapping 99% of harmful contaminants. High flow rates are important for racing vehicles using heavy grade oil, when oil is pumped much faster than in a street engine. Your engine may never use that type of oil or need those flow rates, but it’s nice to know your oil filter has that extra degree of engineering.
