How does your product compare to the competitors?

ICI is a leader in the automotive aftermarket accessories industry. ICI strive to have the best products while keeping costs low. ICI is constantly looking for ways to improve, hence the name Innovative Creations. ICI's engineers have improved the design of many popular aftermarket accessories to make them more practical and durable. For example, ICI was the first manufacturer to offer a polished stainless steel nerf bar. This allows ICI customers to get the look of chrome, but in a more affordable, durable and environmentally friendly manner.

Where are ICI products made?

The majority of ICI products are made in the U.S.A. ICI does employ some global manufacturing with certain products being made overseas. All products are designed and tested in the U.S.A.

What is the difference between cab length and wheel to wheel side bars?

Cab length side bars run from just behind the front wheel, to the end of the truck cab. Wheel to wheel side bars are slightly longer, running all the way from the front wheel to the back wheel. There is no difference in performance, it is simply an aesthetic choice.

What's the difference between a regular nerf bar and a drop step nerf bar?

The drop step style sits a full 3" lower than the traditional nerf bar, making it even easier to get into your truck or SUV. This is especially useful for people with small children or limited mobility.

How do I care for my ICI stainless steel products?

A good rule of thumb is to care for and maintain your aftermarket accessories the same way you care for your vehicles paint.

Are the brackets for ICI side/nerf bars made of stainless steel?

No, ICI uses a carbon steel for all of ICI side step product brackets. Carbon steel is more flexible than stainless steel, making the brackets more durable and practical for real world use.

What is the black finish made from?

ICI uses a two-step "e-coating" process on ICI entire line of black finish step up products and brackets. The surfaces are first primed with an e-coat, followed by a powder coated in a textured #20 black finish. The two-step process is more resistant to damage and fading than the standard one step powder coat process.

What new products is ICI developing?

ICI is expanding current offering of Magnum Bumpers. ICI are in the process of designing non-winch bumpers for all make and model light duty trucks. Such examples include the 2014 Chevy Silverado light duty, the 2009-2014 Ford F-150 Ecoboost, and the 2009-2013 Dodge Ram trucks.

How much to the Magnum series bumpers weigh?

Depending on the vehicle application, a Magnum Bumper can weigh between 125 to 175 pounds. For this reason, ICI recommend a two-person installation for all bumpers.

What is "e-coating"?

E-coating is the original process developed by ICI engineers to apply a black finish to Magnum bumpers and side bars. This two-step process has proven to be longer-lasting than a standard black powder coat.

Installation Questions

Are these products DIY or "Do It Yourself" friendly?

Yes! All ICI products can be installed by the end-user. Installation instructions are provided. There are also installation videos available.

Do I need to pay someone to install ICI products?

No. While some of ICI customers prefer to have the products installed at a shop or by a professional, it is absolutely not necessary. All products can be easily installed at home by following ICI simple instructions. Most products do not even require a drill. Installation instructions come with all products. If you lost them, not to worry!

Do ICI products require drilling?

No, the majority of ICI products are installed without a drill, helping to simplify the installation and preserve your vehicle's resale value. ICI's engineers make every effort to design all ICI products as a no drill installation; however due to some vehicle designs, a few or ICI products may require minor drilling into the vehicle.

Are installation instructions and supplies included with the kit?

Yes, all of the parts and pieces necessary for installation are included with the kit. Some additional tools, such as a tape measure, clips, tape, etc. may be required. An installation guide is also included with every product.

After I install the brackets, why are the holes on the oval tubes not lining up to holes in brackets?

Make sure you are starting on the correct side of the vehicle as listed in ICI instructions. Then verify the correct bracket(s) are installed exactly the same as pictured in the instructions. This will insure proper hole alignment.

Will rocker panels affect the paint underneath? Can I remove them?

No, rocker panels will not affect the factory paint job. There is an exception, with low-quality, after market paint jobs the adhesive can sometimes damage the paint. Factory paint jobs will not be damaged. You can remove the rocker panels should you choose.

Can rocker panels be installed over top of rust?

Yes, rocker panels can be installed on top of rust. In fact, it's a great way to hide damage, prevent further rusting, and improve the look of your vehicle!

Does installing a rear bumper interfere with the hitch?

No, ICI's engineers have designed the Magnum Rear Bumpers in a way which does not interfere with the factory hitch. The hitch will fit like normal.

Are ICI rear bumpers compatible with back up sensors?

Yes, all standard factory bumper features are available with ICI bumpers. Some minor modifications may be necessary.

Can Magnum bumpers accommodate a winch? What size?

On light duty trucks a 10k – 12k recovery winch is recommended. On heavy duty trucks, ICI bumpers will accommodate up to a 16.5k winch.

ICI
