This exhaust pipe heat shield is capable of withstanding a continuous 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit with intermittent spikes of 2,200 degrees, and it lasts longer than other exhaust wraps. In addition to being abrasion-resistant, our exhaust pipe heat shield has an aluminum layer that rejects chemicals. Because this aluminum heat shield material does not completely wrap the entire header, it is compliant with most exhaust manufacturers’ warranties. Shielding the heat away from your shock can prevent the shock from overheating. This will offer you improved handling and prolong the shock’s life. In addition the kit can be used to shield exhaust heat from the plenum, lowering air intake temps, that means more power! Heatshield Armor also results in hotter and faster-flowing exhaust gases that create a scavenging effect to pull intake gases through the system quicker. This lowers intake temperatures, resulting in more power.

How exhaust insulation works:
By wrapping a motorcycle exhaust pipe with an exhaust insulation you reduce how much heat can radiate from an exhaust header pipe and exhaust tubing. You are retaining the thermal energy inside the exhaust system, this reduces the gas density. Thinner exhaust gas, improves exhaust gas velocity inside your exhaust system. This creates a scavenging effect that pulls intake gases through the system quicker, which helps to lower intake
temperatures, creating more power. Tests have shown that header-pipe wrap can reduce exhaust pipe temperatures by as much as 50 percent.
Exhaust pipe insulation benefits:
Handling improvements are another added bonus to motorcycle header wrap in some cases. Retaining heat in the exhaust can prevent it from radiating out into a shock or shock reservoir. Many sport bikes have air boxes in close proximity to exhaust heat. Reducing heat radiating into the air box reduces air intake temps – increasing performance.
Keeping the heat inside the pipe with our motorcycle exhaust wrap can protect a rider’s and passenger's legs from heat. In a UTV there is a personal comfort benefit as well. Less heat radiating from the exhaust system can significantly reduce the heat on the firewall and floorplans, resulting in less heat in the passenger compartment.
