Product Details

Performance Ceramic Brake Pads by Hawk®. These brake pads are designed to maximize all the benefits of ceramic construction to create pads that provide a high level of smooth braking power at high speeds and temperatures while producing virtually no noise, vibration, or dust. Performance Ceramic brake pads are designed to the precise tolerances of factory parts for proper fit and operation of anti-lock brakes, but provide longer pad life that is easier on brake rotors. Sold in sets for front and rear wheels. Limited lifetime warranty.

Features

  • Pads and clips are designed in the precise size and shape of factory OEM parts for proper fit and operation
  • Ceramic pad compounds offer a smoother more superior level of braking power most effective at autobahn speeds
  • Designed to work most effectively with ABS systems
  • Reduced brake dust keeps wheels much cleaner
  • Ceramic pads eliminate squealing under the most extreme cold or hot temperatures
  • Ceramic pad compounds wear slower and last longer than OEM equipment
  • Reduced heat buildup eliminates brake fading that occurs when brake fluid reaches boiling temperature under heavy use
  • Pre-chamfered edges ensure more effective braking against worn brake rotors
  • Slotted center groove provides more effective removal of water, dust, and gasses that build up normally during the braking process
  • Limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects (not wear)
  • Sold as a set for two wheels

Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads are made of ceramic compounds instead of traditional metallic ones found on most vehicles as original equipment. While the benefits of ceramic brakes can be specially tuned to optimize hard racetrack braking, autobahn speed highway needs, or simply provide longer wear, Performance Ceramic brake pads are designed for use to provide higher levels of smooth, refined braking on high performance production cars that may be driven under autobahn conditions rather than on the racetrack. Ceramic pads are used in professional racing because they offer the natural ability to stay cool under the most severe conditions where 200 mile-per-hour speeds generate blistering temperatures. Heat buildup is reduced so extensively that brake fade rarely occurs due to fluid reaching boiling temperature. Ceramic brake pads are far quieter due to their higher resonant frequency undetectable by human ears, so squealing noise does not become an issue, even in the most extreme cold or warm temperatures. Performance Ceramic Brake Pads offer the extremely visible benefit of producing finer, less obtrusive dust that does not stick to most wheel surfaces – most befitting to a high-end automobile. You'll be spared the large amounts of visible black dust that soils aluminum wheels and ultimately becomes corrosive to finishes applied on them. And because the wear factor of ceramic pads is lower than traditional metallic ones, they will last longer.

If you're installing Hawk Performance Ceramic brake pads with new brake rotors, you'll find down the road when the time comes to replace the pads again, rotors will still be usable enough to last through another set of brake pads. If you install them without replacing rotors, pre-chamfered pad edges will mate well against grooves and lips that have already formed as rotor surfaces wear. Instead of the pad squealing as it rubs along the lip edges, it will quietly and evenly press against the part of the rotor where it will have the most effect. To ensure the superior braking power of these pads is not compromised during bad weather conditions, they feature a slotted center groove to effectively remove water, dust, and gasses that build up normally during the braking process. While the many advantages of ceramic brake pads typically come at a high cost, we offer you the superior all-around performance of these parts with value-priced brake parts from Hawk. You don't need a high-performance vehicle to enjoy the benefits these brakes offer, and you might find your dealer charging a similar price while giving you less.

It performed well the first 3,000 miles and then it started to squeak. They stop good and overall do what they are supposed to do but I hate the squeaking noise they make. The dust is moderate and that doesn't bother me as much but I just wish it didn't squeak almost every time I begin to stop anywhere.

So far these are as advertised. Brake dust is low especially compared to the semi metallic pads that I replaced. Noticed improved braking immediately as my car stopped quicker on the first bedding/breaking in stop from 35 mph than it did with previous pads. I did have a hard time finding Hawk pads that fit my car, 2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon with V6 and all wheel drive. Tried two other part numbers before that didn't fit before settling in on HB538Z.760. All three fit as far as size but the morning bracket on the outside pad didn't allow for the mounting spring/bracket didn't work. Used the Hawk website to research and all three were listed as correct. Even these aren't an exact fit as the wear sensor cable didn't have the right connector. I clipped the wire and spliced with the previous connector as a work around.

The pads had the black thing off from the housing bracket so I guess they not anodized or even paint or coated properly. Was going to buy Red Stuff from EBC changed my mind in the middle and bought these. Installation was just fine and easy, the brake response is better and the car stops quicker even though quality wise I'm guessing they won't last as long as the OEM but i guess time will tell.

Hawk Performance Pads for Mk4 Jetta.
Hawk® HB364Z.642 - Performance Ceramic Rear Brake Pads
Pads seem of a good quality, stops the car evenly and smoothly, very quiet. They work well with the drilled Brembo rotors.

I ordered these for my 06 Honda Civic and installed them along with new rotors. What attracted me to these pads is that they are race performance pads that can be used for the street. They are also ultra low dust ceramic pads. After testing them out on the road, I have to say I am pretty satisfied with them. They are quiet and my brakes feel much smoother than my stock ones. Along with good rotors, these pads will make any car perform better and are very consistent. Very pleased with these pads and would order them again. Highly recommended. Might be pricier than other pads, but it is totally worth it!

Not an Exact Match
Appears to be a quality product, however the pads do not have the holes drilled for the separator springs which keep the pads off the rotors. You either drill your own, which I did or you go without the springs and deal with any noise and/or fuel economy issues that occur.
