Proper air filtration is important because even a small amount of dirt can cause a tremendous amount of engine damage. The air filter's purpose is to filter out dirt and other foreign particles in the air, preventing them from entering the air intake system and possibly damaging the engine. The air filter should be changed on a regular basis to ensure proper and long-lasting engine operation. When it comes to replacement, you can’t do better than a Hastings air filter. All Hastings filters are designed and manufactured to specifications mandated by engine and equipment manufacturers. Then, to make sure these filters meet those standards, they’re tested according to SAE J726 test procedures, the industry standard for air filtration. Whereas most manufacturers specify a minimal initial efficiency for air filters of at least 98.5%, most Hastings filters have minimum initial efficiencies approaching 99%. And as dirt particles accumulate in the Hastings filter media, they increase the efficiency of the filter, making it work better during its useful life.
This air filter is manufactured using both PermaPleat and Beading processes to separate and stabilize the pleated media. PermaPleat is an embossing process that forms dividers between pleats to prevent bunching and ensure uniform air flow. To lock the pleat tips in place and prevent movement, the manufacturer uses beading, which means applying a continuous bead of adhesive around the circumference of a filter’s metal wrap. A Hastings air filter will supply your engine with the protection it needs, with higher contaminant removal efficiency and contaminant holding capacity than comparable aftermarket filters.
