- Tires have been known to lose up to one pound per square inch (psi) every month. It is important to check all tires, even the spare, at least once a month or before a long trip.

The optimum air pressure level for your tire can be found on the inner side of the car door, inside the fuel cap or in the car manual (the location of the sticker can vary according to country). The number on the tires sidewall represents maximum air pressure for that specific tire, therefore do not use this figure as a basis for comparison.
How to Check Tire Pressure
- Purchase a certified air pressure gauge or take your vehicle to a nearby service center or fuel station for a check-up.
- Tires must be checked in a “cold” state (at least three hours after driving).
- Insert the gauge into the valve.
- Compare the measured air pressure level with the level listed on the car door.
- If the measured figure is higher release air until the figure matches what is listed on the car door.
- If the measured figure is lower insert more air until the figure matches what is listed on the car door.

Tire Storage Methods and Points to Consider.
Before putting the tire in storage, check for signs of abrasion and/or damage and store according to the following directions.
- Before removing the tire from the car, mark where the tire was attached. This lengthens tire life by rotating the front and back tires when you use the tires again the following year.
- Wash the wheel and tire thoroughly with water. Once cleaning is finished, dry them to prevent decay.
- Remove dust and rocks from inside the tires grooves.
- If the tires are assembled with rims, stack them for storing. If the tires are not assembled with rims, stand them up when storing.
- Store tires in a cool place that avoids direct sunlight. Do not store tires in close proximity/next to fuel, oil, or other chemical substances.
