There are many performance exhaust system manufacturers that make extravagant power claims, with a lot of talk about increased flow with huge exhaust tubing. But their systems usually make the most power at 5000-6000 rpm, an rpm range seldom used on the street, even by performance vehicles. And those sewer pipe sized tubes actually reduce torque at lower rpm, where you need it the most.

The Gibson Split Rear Cat-Back Exhaust System is designed and built to make horsepower and torque for real world driving conditions. Dyno results show that this system makes maximum horsepower and torque at 1800-3000 rpm, where you can feel it during every day driving and where you need it when doing things like towing a trailer. And along with that increased power and improved performance you get better fuel economy, an aggressive, throaty exhaust tone, and a lot of style from 2 separate exhaust pipes and 2 polished exhaust tips that exit straight out the back like dual exhaust.

Gibson designed this exhaust system at their fully equipped research and development center, using engine and chassis dynos, flow benches and audio testing equipment. To make useable real world power, Gibson equips this system with the Superflow muffler and mandrel bent tubing. The all-welded construction Superflow muffler is baffled and chambered for better volume efficiency with unrestricted flow. It's so efficient it has only 5% exhaust flow restriction, as opposed to the 34% or more restriction in a typical stock muffler, and the 10-20% restriction that exists with some aftermarket mufflers. And the increased flow and great sound is achieved without using any muffler packing, so there’s no packing to blow out. Your exhaust flow and sound will remain consistent throughout the life of the muffler.

The other key to less restriction and improved flow is mandrel bent tubing. First Gibson selects the optimal tubing diameter for the best engine efficiency, not the most exhaust flow, then they use CNC mandrel tube benders to make every tubing bend. Mandrel bending ensures smooth bends and makes sure the pipe maintains its size and shape throughout the entire length. Tubes that aren’t mandrel bent can lose a percentage of their diameter in sharp bends, creating restriction. CNC mandrel bending provides consistent bending so every system flows as designed.

Finally, all Gibson exhaust system components are joined with a “slip fit”, where an exhaust system component fits into the larger opening of the next downstream component. This method reduces the turbulence that is common with ‘ball-and-socket” or “flange-and-gasket” joints, which can cause power-robbing backpressure.

The Gibson Split Rear Cat-Back Exhaust System is available in your choice of stainless steel or aluminized steel. Each comes with highly polished dual T304 stainless steel clampless exhaust tips. The system comes with everything required for installation, including zinc plated factory style hangers and clamps, and detailed instructions. Aluminized systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, but not rust through, for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the system is installed. Stainless steel systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, including rust through, for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the system is installed.

Gibson exhaust systems are manufactured in the USA.

Gibson® Performance Exhaust is a family run company based in Corona, California. Owners Ron and Julie Gibson started the company after they couldn't find performance products to meet their own needs, and decided to build exhaust systems themselves. Today Gibson is one of the largest aftermarket performance exhaust products companies in the world. Gibson is committed to building cost-effective exhaust systems that deliver more performance for the dollar, and make more horsepower and torque in the lower rpm range, where it's needed for real world driving. All of Gibson's street applications are 50-state emissions legal and do not affect the factory warranty.

Easy to install and fit great! Basically bolt together if time taken to mark and align. I highly recommend this setup.

Exhaust system fit perfectly, sounds good, but I wouldn't put that it's an aggressive sounding system, more of a moderate tone. Definitely better than stock. Good value. The only downside I had were the tips. They are single walled tips, was hoping for double walled ones. Overall good system though for the price.

Had a shop install to have it welded, installed super pleased with the sound.

Awesome look and sounds good when you step on the accelerator. Not too loud, but stainless steel would last longer. Pipe rusted and broke off behind muffler after about 2 years.

Was delivered really fast and it's easy to install. I love the way it sounds, it is loud enough that you don't hear it much in the cab, happy with the purchase.

Well built, easy install. Not near the sound I hoped for. Described as being aggressive, loud, from the cab with windows down, it sounds like the factory exhaust. Standing behind it when revving the motor, you can hear a deeper tone but not loud at all. Keep in mind I wasn’t wanting anything obnoxious, but this is a disappointment. 2004 F250 5.4.

The product is excellent but the sound is horrible. Has a nasty raspy/buzz tone, I hate it and I am going to take it off and put the stock back on. Very, very disappointed in the sound, I’ve had many Gibson’s in the past, disappointed in this one.

This is my 3rd purchase of this catback system. High quality and good sound. Easy installation with all hardware provided and exhaust tips. I installed this brand on all my vehicles.

Easy install ~2 hours. Aside from moving a hanger point on one section I love this exhaust kit. Sounds amazing on my 2009 Tundra 4.7, I can even get it to crackle and pop playing around with sport shift mode. Definitely worth the extra money instead of letting some random shop make a trampoline pole exhaust with a Flowmaster muffler. 10/10.

The exhaust has a great look to it, and a great sound! If you’re looking for that loud bass sound. This is it! Great pickup for those who don’t want to spend close to a thousand dollars on essentially just a more popular brand. Love it!
