How Does DACCO® Build a Quality Torque Converter?

All DACCO® Torque Converters are built to the highest quality standards in the industry and warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for a period of 3 years or 36,000 miles from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first. Every converter goes through the following five-step process to ensure the highest level of quality.

Cleaning - all components are cleaned thoroughly prior to assembly:

  • Components disassembled for cleaning and inspection
  • State of the art cleaning equipment used to remove the smallest particles and the varnish that can accumulate on parts
  • OE type sediment testing of completed products as well as sub-components

Inspection - no marginal or borderline components are used:

  • Components disassembled, qualified, repaired, or replaced
  • Scheduled and random audits ensure items are meeting specifications
  • Overlapping stages of quality checks ensure quality components

Assembly - proper assembly and specifications are achieved:

  • Extensive research conducted into meeting and exceeding OEM specs
  • Detailed training and testing support builders and processes
  • Multiple manual and digital quality checks ensure correct assembly and dimensions are met every time

Welding - OEM factory welding machines and technology are used to ensure a true converter with no leaks or inner contamination.

Final Inspection - 100% functional testing for leaks, run out, end play and balance:

  • Custom built leak check machines require
  • Human and machine approval to pass with no leaks
  • Static dimensions and functional specifications are measured on the Proud System, the digital backbone of the Quality Control System. The details are recorded with the unique QR code for each converter
  • End of Line visual inspections are conducted on each converter to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met when they open the box
  • Additional random audits are done to further verify the quality of the product that you receive

Dacco corporate offices are located in Cookeville, TN, and it’s home to the management team that oversees manufacturing, operations, sales and marketing and customer service. Plus, each store’s staff includes former transmission shop owners and rebuilders. We’re also the only torque converter remanufacturer that utilizes the rolling inventory concept. That means Dacco salespeople are able to visit most of the continental United States on a weekly basis.

Warranty Information

Warranty and Remedies

As the exclusive remedy, in accordance with the Dacco Terms and provided such Product is deemed by Dacco to be defective, Dacco shall, at its sole option (i) repair or replace the defective Product or component(s) thereof; (ii) provide Buyer with a credit on its account in an amount equal to the original purchase Price of the defective Product. Dacco reserves the right to examine all returned Products to determine whether or not the return qualifies for the exclusive remedy set forth in these Dacco Terms.

The above warranties are exclusive and in lieu of all other written or unwritten, express or implied warranties, and Dacco expressly disclaims any express or implied warranty of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose of the product, except for warranty of title.

Dacco does not warrant or make any representations concerning Product when the Product is not installed and/or used in strict accordance with good installation and maintenance practices in the automotive industry. Dacco does not warrant Product that has been altered, improperly installed, maintained, or repaired; combined with non-Dacco products; contaminated with oil or grease; damaged as a result of normal cosmetic or mechanical wear and tear, accident or lack of reasonable and proper protection during storage, overheating, or damaged by accident, negligence, misuse, race or off-road use or any other unauthorized use. Dacco shall have no liability for breach of warranty claims based on allegations of defective design or negligent manufacture or testing, patent or infringement claims, liability for any special, punitive, incidental, liquidated or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, damages to other parts or equipment, cost of capital or interest, any claim for labor charges incurred in diagnosing or replacing a defective Product, towing charges, telephone calls, unauthorized repairs, or injury to person or property. If Dacco, without separate compensation therefore, furnishes Buyer with advice or other assistance concerning any Product or equipment in which the Product may be installed, the furnishing of such advice or assistance will not subject Dacco to any liability whether in contract, tort (including negligence and strict liability) or otherwise.

In any action brought by Buyer against Dacco, regardless of the form or forum, Dacco shall not be liable to Buyer, end user, or customer for special, consequential, incidental, liquidated, or punitive damages and, under no circumstances shall any award against Dacco in favor of Buyer, end user, or customer exceed the amount paid to Dacco by Buyer during the twelve month period immediately preceding the date on which notice is first given to Dacco of the claim.

In the event of Buyer’s resale, redistribution, installation or other similar action of any of the Products sold hereunder, in whatever form, Buyer shall make no warranty on its own binding Dacco, and shall notify such purchaser of these Dacco Terms and disclaimer of any Dacco warranty, in writing or otherwise.

Buyer shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless Dacco (and Dacco's parent company, its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors or assigns and their respective directors, officers, shareholders and employees, individually and collectively, "Indemnitees") against any and all claims, demands, judgments, loss, injury, death, damage, liability, deficiency, actions, interest, award, penalty, fine, cost or expense, and the cost of enforcing any right to indemnification hereunder, and the cost of pursuing any insurance providers arising out of or occurring in connection with the Products purchased from Dacco and involving Buyer's acts, omissions, negligence, misconduct or breach of Dacco’s Terms.
