What can I put on my license plate to protect it?

Cruiser has several different novelty/shield options to protect your plate. They provide bubble shields, flat shields, shields with frames, shield/frame/hardware kits, and “Vaults” for the ultimate protection. Before deciding make sure to check your local laws concerning shields as they vary from State/Province to State/Province.

What is the difference between an acrylic and a polycarbonate shield?

Cruiser’s polycarbonate Tuf Shields are their unbreakable, lifetime guarantee shields. Their acrylic shields are their price point shields. Tuf Shields are guaranteed against breakage.

Will the smoke shield block photo cameras?

All cruiser shields, both smoke and clear, are designed to leave the license plate number visible. Please check with your local and state laws as these vary from State/Province to State/Province.

What are the sizes for regular license plate frames and motorcycle frames?

Cruiser’s license plate frames and motorcycle frames are the standard USA size frames. The standard/regular license plate frame is designed to fit all standard 6x12 inch novelty/license plates. Motorcycle frames are designed to fit all standard 4x7 inch motorcycle license plates.

Can your license plate frames be used on the back and front of your vehicle?

Yes. Cruiser’s license plate frames are designed with flexibility in mind and are created to be used on both the front and back of your vehicles.

If I am installing Cruiser fastener caps which hardware do, I use?

All Cruiser products are designed with compatibility in mind and are all interchangeable with Cruiser products. Their P/N 81500 has hardware for every application.

What is Prop 65?

Prop 65 is affecting virtually every industry that touches your life—from your morning coffee to the clothing you wear each day, Prop 65 is everywhere. As an industry leader, Cruiser Accessories has chosen to be compliant with the law and responsive to the mandates of the proposition.

They identified that labeling their products was the clear and reasonable way to communicate to their customers and end users. Since their goods move around the country and are sold in the state of California, this was the best way for them to show the State their full compliance with Prop 65.

The label on Cruiser’s products means that they are being compliant with the State of California and have identified that their goods contain one or more of the chemicals that are currently on their growing list of more than 800 chemicals, including Aspirin and Vitamin A, that could be harmful to one’s health. The key to understanding the warning within Prop 65 is knowing the amount of exposure to these chemicals that creates harm. You will find many other trusted products bearing the same required labeling, including products such as balsamic vinegar and children’s toys. Prop 65 impacted items are everywhere.

How do I use fastener caps?

The main job of the fastener caps is to cover the screw head and give your license plate frame a finished look. Here is how to assemble:

Place the fastener cap’s retainer so it looks like a bowl.
Place your screw inside the retainer cap and continue to screw in place. Do not over tighten.
Center the screw head inside the plastic retainer cap’s and then push to snap in place.

How do I clean my frame and shield?

Wash the frame and/or novelty plate shield by using warm soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge, then dry. DO NOT use any harsh chemicals or abrasives…just mild soap. You can also use a vinegar cleaning solution as well.

I only use the top two bolt holes to mount my plate/frame assembly, what do I do with the open holes at the bottom?

Do your frames come as a single frame or pair of frames?

Cruiser mainly sells single frames. To be honest, many people do not have matching frames…they like the ability to have different ones on the back than on the front. They do have a couple of products that come as a pair.
