What are Bushwacker fender flares made of?

Bushwacker Fender Flares, Trail Armor®, Bed Rail Caps, and Bumper Protectors are made of either Dura-Flex® 2000 ABS or TPO. Dura-Flex® 2000 ABS and Dura-Flex® 2000 TPO are exclusive materials from Bushwacker; both are high-impact, low-temperature automotive-grade materials that are flexible and yet rigid enough to retain their shape. Their Dura-Flex® 2000 TPO variant is specially designed for extreme products that are prone to impact. Both materials will stand up to everyday use on or off the road with complete UV protection. Bushwacker Flares are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against warping, cracking or other factory defects.

They don't make a flare for my vehicle. Can I stretch a fender flare to fit a vehicle that Bushwacker doesn't support?

You cannot stretch or shape a fender flare to fit a vehicle it's not designed for. Bushwacker flares are made to be vehicle and year specific. Unlike other flares on the market, Bushwacker flares have been created to meet every curve in the sheet metal of the vehicle it was designed for.

How difficult is it to install Bushwacker fender flares?

Bushwacker fender flares are easy to install. The company supplies the correct hardware and easy-to-follow instructions. Bushwacker flares are designed to use factory holes if available. If factory holes are not available, some of the newer flares install with self-tapping screws. Bushwacker Fender Flares mount directly to the sheet metal for a strong and secure fit.

Will Bushwacker fender flares fit if my vehicle has body side moldings?

If your vehicle has body side molding, it is suggested that you cut the molding where it intersects with the flares or trim the fender flare around the molding. To insure proper fit with no gapping, you are recommended to cut the molding.

Will Bushwacker fender flares fit if my vehicle has running boards?

In most cases Bushwacker Fender Flares will fit your vehicle if it has running boards, providing your running boards attach to the wheel well opening with a flat plate.

How do Bushwacker fender flares mount?

Each Bushwacker Fender Flare application mounts differently than other applications. For specific mounting details of a specific application, download the installation sheet provided on that application's fender flare product page.

Why do Bushwacker fender flares for my Dodge cover part of the front doors? It doesn't look like I can open it.

The Dodge door opens inward at an angle; the flare will not interfere with the closing and opening of the doors.

I have a brand emblem on the sheet metal near my front wheel well. Are Bushwacker flares notched to fit around the emblem?

Bushwacker Fender Flares are not notched to fit around brand emblems. The emblems can be lifted and moved to just above where the flare will sit easily by heating the adhesive they are attached by with a hair dryer. Be careful to not scorch the paint by overheating it.

How can I tell if my Toyota has an import or domestic bed?

Import Bed: the lip of the bed will roll out to the outside of the vehicle (some will also have external tie downs). Domestic Bed: the lip of the bed will roll into the inside of the bed.

I have a vehicle that is a sister vehicle of an application Bushwacker supports, such as the Mazda b-series truck / Ford Ranger or the Mercury Mountaineer / Ford Explorer. Will Bushwacker fender flares fit these sister vehicles?

There are many parts on these vehicles that are interchangeable. Unfortunately, the quarter panel sheet metal pieces are different enough to make the flares fit incorrectly on these vehicles.

Do I have to cut sheet metal to install cut-out flares?

All Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares except some Toyota Cut-Out applications require sheet metal removal for installation. The installation instructions simplify the process, it is best to read the application's installation instructions before purchasing.

Can you paint Bushwacker fender flares, bedrail & tailgate caps or trail armor?

Bushwacker Products come in OEM-style black but can be easily painted to any color you want! If you want to paint the product yourself, Bushwacker suggest that you clean the product with a high-grade degreaser, wipe with a tack rag and then spray with lacquer, enamel or polyurethane base automotive paint. Clear coating is optional, but recommended after painting.

Do I have to use the edge trim? Is it paintable?

It is recommended to use edge trim, as it helps the flare fit snugly up against the vehicle body and minimizes gapping.

It is not recommend to paint the edge trim.

How should I clean my fender flares after they are installed?

To clean your fender flares, simply wash them with mild soap and water. It is important that you do not use wax, chemicals or abrasive cleaning products to clean your fender flares.

How do I measure flare height?

Measuring the flare height should be done at the top dead center of the wheel well, from the bottom inside of the flare edge to the top outside flare edge.

Will Bushwacker fender flares fit if my vehicle has body side moldings?

If your vehicle has body side molding, cut the molding where it intersects with the flares or trim the fender flare around the molding. To insure proper fit with no gapping, it is recommended to cut the molding.

What quantities of fender flares are available in a box?

Bushwacker Fender Flares are available as front pair, rear pair or complete set of 4 depending on application part number and availability. Fender flares are not available to be purchased individually - for example, front driver side only.
