Product Details

B6 Series Shock Absorber and Strut by Bilstein®. If you expect more damping power from your shock absorber - even under loads - but don't want to opt for an all-out sports model, the BILSTEIN B6 is the ideal solution.

Features

  • Increased power reserves and service life, even when pulling transporters and trailers or during frequent journeys with loads
  • Optimum adhesion and enhanced lane change stability in both day to day and extreme situations
  • Marked improvement in safety and sportiness without additional spring changes (lowering)
  • BILSTEIN gas pressure technology
  • Ensures a high level of traction and more precise handling
  • A must-have for powerful sport suspensions
  • Added safety in all dynamic driving situations
  • Road-tested by BILSTEIN and fine-tuned
  • No German TÜV registration required

Gas Pressure Technology. Over time, the mono-tube gas pressure technology developed by BILSTEIN has established itself as a standard in automotive construction. This technology involves keeping the oil in the absorber under pressure, which prevents it from foaming when temperatures and loads are increasing. As a result, full damping power is retained even when the system is placed under extreme stress, a feature that can be observed in the self-lowering piston.

Mono-tube Upside-Down Technology. The original and best: The original mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers bore the BILSTEIN name, and we’re still responsible for producing the best there is. BILSTEIN’s mono-tube technology is the number-one choice in motorsports and series-production sports cars: no other type gives engineers the same freedom to choose the perfect installation location or position (e.g. Upside-Down technology).

Road-Tested by Bilstein. To achieve that celebrated BILSTEIN driving experience, BILSTEIN engineers rely on not only technology that is truly at the cutting edge, but also something that has withstood the test of time: how it feels to the driver. As a result, all of Bilstein high-performance absorbers, as well as Bilstein sport suspensions and threaded ride height adjustable kits, undergo a rigorous testing programme. On the Nürburgring and in Bilstein own test centre at the Papenburg test track, Bilstein drivers test how balanced the driving characteristics of various vehicles are in a variety of different driving situations. Only when they have passed this programme of tests with distinction are they allowed to bear the BILSTEIN name. This way, Bilstein can guarantee that celebrated BILSTEIN driving experience.

In 1954, Bilstein® was the first to realize the potential offered by an idea of Prof. Bourcier de Carbon, a French researcher in the field of vibrations. The aim was to eliminate the physical disadvantages of the conventional telescopic shock absorbers, whilst at the same time making the dampers lighter and able to be fitted in any position. The name Bilstein has for many decades been closely associated with high tech in the field of suspension design, driving comfort and safety. In order to expand this position in the future, Bilstein became a division of ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG in 1988, and a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2005. The partnership and co-operation within the group will enable the company to continue to inspire with innovations in the traditional Bilstein way.

This was my first experience purchasing from both CARiD and this brand of shocks. But let me tell you..This entire experience was superb, the product arrive quite quickly and well packaged. -I’ve replaced the original shocks with these and there's a noticeable difference. I also have to say that I'm not a car expert but I installed it easily.

Good product, improved the handling of my Mustang LX 5.0 dramatically, worth the the price and saved me unnecessary research of shopping and reviewing other shocks and struts. Shipping was excellent.

I intended on upgrading my suspension but didn't know Bilstein was so magnificent. The rear shocks installed easy and quick front struts are always a challenge, but worth it. These are constructed excellent and painted well. I have a '93 Volvo 960 I'm rebuilding. Lowered 1.5 inches. Bilstein shocks and struts have made my ride handle like a performance dream. Tight on cornering and very excellent on road grip and contact with the surface. These matched well with the Eibach lowering springs.

I ordered my Bilsteins to replace the aging OEM struts on my Lexus. Wow! The car feels so much more alive and planted on the road. I've always felt the stock suspension was too much on the soft side and the Bilsteins is a perfect balance between sporty and comfort.
