Features

  • BILSTEIN monotube gas pressure technology
  • EIBACH performance springs with progressive characteristic
  • BILSTEIN inverted tube technology eliminates rod flex and provides unmatched lateral stability
  • Springs and shock absorbers road-tested and fine-tuned to complement one other perfectly
  • German TÜV certificate
  • Made in Germany

Gas Pressure Technology. Over time, the mono-tube gas pressure technology developed by BILSTEIN has established itself as a standard in automotive construction. This technology involves keeping the oil in the absorber under pressure, which prevents it from foaming when temperatures and loads are increasing. As a result, full damping power is retained even when the system is placed under extreme stress, a feature that can be observed in the self-lowering piston.

Mono-tube Upside-Down Technology. The original and best: The original mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers bore the BILSTEIN name, and we’re still responsible for producing the best there is. BILSTEIN’s mono-tube technology is the number-one choice in motorsports and series-production sports cars: no other type gives engineers the same freedom to choose the perfect installation location or position (e.g. Upside-Down technology).

Twin-tube Technology. The proven technology of a twin-tube absorber is applied in the vast majority of all vehicles. BILSTEIN‘s twin-tube absorbers, featuring “original equipment manufacturer” quality that has undergone rigorous testing, offer a marked improvement in driving characteristics with universal spare parts replaced in a timely and efficient manner.

Ride height change. A multitude of tests involving a wide variety of equipment helps Bilstein test engineers determine what the perfect lowering height should be. During this process, Bilstein considers aerodynamics, residual spring travel, driving characteristics, comfort, suitability for everyday use, behaviour in limited applications, and aesthetics. Bilstein custom-made kits for the alteration of the vehicle ride height consist of shock absorbers with associated suspension springs. Shock absorbers can be suitable combined with existing kits, in order to achieve a suspension clearance reduction or else increase.

Road-Tested by Bilstein. To achieve that celebrated BILSTEIN driving experience, BILSTEIN engineers rely on not only technology that is truly at the cutting edge, but also something that has withstood the test of time: how it feels to the driver. As a result, all of Bilstein high-performance absorbers, as well as Bilstein sport suspensions and threaded ride height adjustable kits, undergo a rigorous testing programme. On the Nürburgring and in Bilstein own test centre at the Papenburg test track, Bilstein drivers test how balanced the driving characteristics of various vehicles are in a variety of different driving situations. Only when they have passed this programme of tests with distinction are they allowed to bear the BILSTEIN name. This way, Bilstein can guarantee that celebrated BILSTEIN driving experience.

In 1954, Bilstein® was the first to realize the potential offered by an idea of Prof. Bourcier de Carbon, a French researcher in the field of vibrations. The aim was to eliminate the physical disadvantages of the conventional telescopic shock absorbers, whilst at the same time making the dampers lighter and able to be fitted in any position. The name Bilstein has for many decades been closely associated with high tech in the field of suspension design, driving comfort and safety. In order to expand this position in the future, Bilstein became a division of ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG in 1988, and a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2005. The partnership and co-operation within the group will enable the company to continue to inspire with innovations in the traditional Bilstein way.

Fits my car right, running stock wheel/rim size fits perfect. No scraping, 10x cornering, carries the speed throughout the turns well while gripping the road perfectly.

I got the kit and received them about 2 months in, the rears shocks where leaking and had to get new one, but the warranty helped. But in order to get the kit replaced my car had to sit on jack stands for the old one to go back and receive the new one or I could put a hold on my credit card for the same amount of a new kit 800.00. If you have the money and time it's worth it, but if it's your daily, double think it.

Great Product
I am pleased with the product. Didn't really lower my car as much as I thought, although I didn't measure before and after. Overall, great product.

Shocks And Springs
Awesome set of shocks and springs! The ride is very smooth, went from stock height and seemed like a bit too low at first but after a couple of days of looking at it the height is perfect.
