The spark plug is the last step in the ignition circuit. It takes a voltage surge from the coil and creates a high voltage spark that ignites the compressed air fuel mixture within each cylinder. If everything operates properly, the engine runs efficiently providing maximum fuel economy and the lowest exhaust emissions. Spark plugs are available in different materials, heat ranges, reach, thread diameter, and seat type, with features to suit engine requirements. Thanks to their full platinum tips, these spark plugs assure virtually no gap erosion, feature high temperature and pressure resistance as well as provide 100,000-mile durability. The products also feature a high nickel alloy side electrode that maintains precise gap and necked-down center electrode that provides quicker and cleaner firing with less voltage ensuring easier starts, quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy compared to traditional products. Double platinum spark plugs are the plugs to use on engines with (DIS) Distributorless Ignition Systems. Unlike a distributor ignition, DIS fires the spark plugs in both directions. Half the plugs fire from the center electrode to the side electrode and the other half fire from the side electrode to the center electrode. Double platinum plugs help prevent side electrode erosion on the plugs that fire from the side electrode to the center electrode.

Autolite® will, at its option, replace or refund the purchase price of the failed spark plugs.
