The window regulator is a mechanism that rolls the glass window up and down. The power window regulator typically has the same basic design as the regulator used on older cars with manual window operation, but features a small electric motor that actuates it. To move the arms, this motor (or the hand crank on old models) turns a worm gear that meshes with teeth on a large plate that is connected to a main arm. Cable-type regulators have a more complex construction, with a metal track (or tracks) located vertically inside the door panel that function as a guide component (or components). Rust caused by moisture getting through bad seals and weatherstripping, natural wear, defective motor, mechanical problems with the window regulator may cause the window to stop rolling or require additional force to move. Cable-type regulators can have worn-out or damaged pulleys and cables. Whatever problem with your window regulator may be, an easy and cost-effective fix to this is to get a quality replacement part by Auto Metal Direct.
