Airtex® - WarrantyAirtex® - About

Features:

  • Meets or exceeds OEM quality standards
  • Special heat treated rocker arms and case-hardened pins provide long-lasting performance
  • Upgraded seals and pump diaphragms for compatibility with today's multi-fuel blends
  • 100% tested to ensure premium performance and long service life

Mechanical fuel pumps were the standard in cars with carbureted engines till the 1970s, when engines evolved from carburetors to fuel injection. Electric fuel pumps replaced mechanical ones and became the norm because the fuel injection system requires higher pressure than mechanical pumps can generate. However, some drivers still prefer mechanical diaphragm pumps because of their ease of installation, minimal wiring, quiet operation, and reliability.

If you are in need of a mechanical fuel pump, you can't do better than Airtex as this is the only U.S. manufacturer of mechanical fuel pumps. Each precision-cast unit is manufactured with heat treated rocker arms and case-hardened pins to provide long-lasting operation. Airtex uses upgraded seals and pump diaphragms for compatibility with modern multi-fuel blends and performs stringent tests throughout the entire manufacturing process to assure each and every pump delivers worry-free performance.

Airtex® has manufactured quality car parts since 1935. It serves the OEMs and the automotive aftermarket industry and supplies original equipment to auto, truck, marine, and other manufacturers, as well as specialty companies and fleet applications. Located in Fairfield, Illinois, Airtex is known worldwide as one of the largest manufacturers of fuel delivery, cooling, and electrical parts. It has three manufacturing plants, design and engineering centers as well as research, development, and test facilities that meet or comply with ISO standards. Airtex delivers unmatched quality that improves upon design and performance of aftermarket replacements.

Great pump
I was shocked this replacement fuel pump was much cheaper than the competition. I was worried something was wrong. However, the part promptly arrived in few days, in a sealed box, looked brand new. Installed it in the car, works excellent! I am so impressed I took my time to write this review.

EXELENT
Great pump for carbureted engines that don't require higher pressures. A little noisy at start-up, but it's nice to hear it is working. After pressure is built up, can't hear it at all. No problems in any conditions, including a 3500-mile road trip in 100-deg weather.
