- Maintains the life and performance of your AEM Dryflow performance air filter
- Loosens and dissolves dirt and grime build up to facilitate cleaning
- Specially formulated for AEM Dryflow air filters
An AEM Dryflow direct replacement air filter can be used for up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is needed, depending on driving conditions. An AEM Dryflow round, oval or conical clamp-on air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed, again depending on driving conditions. However, you should regularly check your air filter when performing vehicle service like oil changes, and more often if you frequently drive in extremely dusty conditions.
When cleaning is necessary, use only AEM Synthetic Air Filter Cleaner. The AEM cleaning solution is uniquely formulated to loosen dirt and dissolve grime on the Dryflow air filter without damaging the filter media. Never use gasoline, detergents or parts solvent.
To clean the air filter, remove it from the vehicle and lightly tap off all loose dirt and debris. Liberally spray AEM Synthetic Air Filter Cleaner onto both sides of the filter, applying most of it to the dirty side. Allow the cleaner to soak in for about 10 minutes, but do not let it dry on the filter.
Directing the flow inside the filter, rinse off the filter with cool or warm (not hot) water. If necessary, use your fingers over the hose opening to slightly increase water pressure. Reapply cleaner and rinse as many times as is necessary until the water flowing through the filter is completely clear of dirt and debris.
After cleaning, shake off the excess water and allow the filter to dry. If applied gently, compressed air can be used to shorten drying time. When dry, the air filter can be reinstalled.
John Concialdi and Bob Sullivan co founded AEM® in 1987 as a tuning performance shop in Compton California. Both men had extensive technical backgrounds in engines and engine airflow, and in a short time AEM became the go-to company for performance modifications. By 1993, when the company relocated to Gardena California, it had become commonplace to see cars wearing the bright yellow AEM logo winning races. AEM tirelessly dyno tested and worked closely with racers and auto manufacturers in an effort to understand intake energy dynamics. This resulted in the sale of their first air intake kit in 1994. AEM can boast a number of firsts and unique products: They’re the first manufacturer to make an intake system with specific tube lengths and diameters to take advantage of pressure waves in the inlet tract; they developed the first dual chamber intake kit; they designed an air bypass valve to prevent hydro-lock should the air filter ingest water; and they created one of the first hybrid intake systems for modified cars. AEM continues to create innovative products to help you get more power from your car.
