    • ACDelco Professional, premium aftermarket Ignition Wire Sets contain wires that are engineered with strength-enhancing fiberglass and high-temperature silicone insulators. These ignition wires are a premium aftermarket offering that covers more than 96 percent of domestic vehicles on the road today. Parts offered for GM, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Nissan and Toyota vehicles. ACDelco Professional Ignition Wire Sets are manufactured to meet or exceed your expectations for fit, form and function.

      FEATURES & BENEFITS

      • Wire conductor, wire length and diameter help provide maximum spark delivery and protection
      • Spark plug distributor boot shape and materials provide proper fit, installation and water-tight seal
      • Terminal design improves spark plug retention and assists in installation with excellent corrosion resistance
      • Insulator employs high dielectric materials
      • Coil retainer prevents fretting and micro-arcing
      • Strength-enhancing components and thick, high-temperature insulation jacket for outstanding resistance to heat, oil and abrasion, while promoting durability and protection

      PRODUCT FACTS

Most vehicle breakdowns are due to one of five causes:

      • Out of gas
      • Stalled/engine won’t start
      • Dead battery
      • Flat tire
      • Overheated engine

Most of these breakdowns can be avoided through the following measures:

      • 1. Periodic mechanical checkups, especially when engine stalling, hard starting or other such symptoms are signaling trouble
      • 2. Regular tire inspection to spot damage, unusual wear or underinflation that can lead to the failure
      • 3. Seasonal checks and preventive maintenance of the cooling system, a frequent factor in roadside breakdowns
      • 4. Be sure the gas cap is on tight after filling up to safeguard against condensation in the tank. If moisture in the gas line freezes, the engine can stall.

Also, having a cellular phone or portable CB radio is of great benefit while traveling.

      What It Does

The Starting and Charging System starts the engine, maintains the battery’s charge and provides power to the electrical accessories while the engine is running.

      Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting:

Signs that you may be having problems with your ignition wires or that your ignition wires might need to be replaced:

      • Engine cylinder misfires. This can be due to conductor wear
      • Sluggish vehicle performance or reduced engine power, especially when going up hills or when carrying a load
      • Rough engine idle, engine hesitation or engine surging caused by a disruption of the normal electrical current flow
      • Breaks or cracks in the insulation jacket or outer coating of the wires

      Good Maintenance Practices

Check the ignition wires when checking or replacing your vehicle’s spark plugs. Look for any cracks or tears in the insulation and the wire connections to make sure they are secure.

    • Built to match the Original Equipment in length and fit, ACDelco GM OE Ignition Wire Sets also offer a performance advantage over many aftermarket products.

      Service & Maintenance

      • Inspect the battery cables and posts for good connections and/or signs of corrosion. Clean them if needed.
      • Check all vehicle lights – including headlamps, turn signals, brake lights and emergency flashers – to be sure they are operating at full brightness. A dim light or slow-flashing turn signal could be a sign of a weak alternator.
      • Inspect the engine belts regularly. Look for glazing and cracks. Worn belts will affect engine performance (see Belts, Wipers and Cooling System for additional belt information).
    • Should I change my ignition wires when I change my spark plugs?

Spark plug wires should be changed as recommended in your vehicle Owner’s Manual.

Is the length of the wire or cable important for installation or performance?

Yes, the length of the wire or cable is important for fit and performance. You should only use the wire or cable that is designed to meet the Original Equipment fit, form and function.
