In 2013, Infiniti announced a shift to a new nomenclature scheme that would follow a pattern based on a model’s position in the lineup. In accordance with the renaming scheme, the Infiniti M line of mid-size luxury vehicles rolled into the 2014 model year with the Q70 nameplate. Apart from the new name, there were just a few actual changes in vehicle mechanics or design. The Q70 is built on the Nissan FM platform featuring a 114.2-inch wheelbase and the overall length of 196.1 inches. As well as its predecessor, the Q70 is one of the most performance-oriented vehicles in the premium sedan segment. The 2014 Infiniti Q70 was brought to the market in three trim levels with 3.7-liter 330-hp V6 and 5.6-liter 420-hp V8 engines or a 360-horsepower hybrid powertrain to choose from.
For the 2015 model year, the Infiniti Q70 received slight styling updates, including three new body colors, reworked grille, redesigned LED headlights and tail lights, and new front and rear end designs. As well as the previous-year model, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 is offered in three trim levels, namely 3.7, 5.6, and Hybrid, that indicate the size or type of an engine. All models come standard with a seven-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, while the most advanced 5.6 model can be equipped with AWD as an option. What’s more, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 lineup received a new Q70L long-wheelbase model which is available in 3.7 and 5.6 trim levels. With its 120.1-inch wheelbase, the Q70L is classified as a full-size sedan.
Apart from a set of standard features that includes but is not limited to auto-dimming power side view mirrors, cruise and climate control, automatic headlights and fog lights, and heated power front seats, Infiniti offers a number of optional packages that are aimed at making driving even more comfortable, smart, and fun. This includes the Premium package that adds the navigation system, leather upholstery, voice control, and many other features, the Deluxe Touring package, the Performance Tire and Wheel package, and the Sport package that is only available on standard wheelbase models.
Built as a luxury vehicle, the Q70 still carries sporty features that provide a responsive control and agile ride. And with a large selection of optional features, this vehicle may be stuffed with top-notch equipment and technologies.
