The full-size pickup truck market has always been a cruel battlefield for vehicle manufacturers, and the Chevy Silverado has always been falling just a bit short of a victory. In the best-selling trucks rating, Chevy’s offering occupies an honorable and honest second place, in between the massively selling Ford F-150 and much less successful Ram. While aiming to get that resolved for the better, Chevrolet introduced quite a number of novelties for the 2011 Silverado.

For the light-duty 1500 model, the manufacturer added only minor enhancements to the exterior and equipment. The body of the new 1500 was slightly upgraded to reduce aerodynamic noises that appear at speed. Carbon Flash Metallic body color is no longer available. Instead, the truck gets Steel Green Metallic for all models and Magna Steel Metallic and Victory Red paint color options for the select ones. The LT and LTZ trim levels received the resprayed front bumper, while the WT, LS, and LT benefit from slight interior changes. All models also add the advanced ninth-generation OnStar system.

In the HD lineup, modifications are much more considerable. If not completely rebuilt, the 2500/3500 models were fundamentally improved mechanical-wise. The chassis is made using high-strength steel, now forming a fully boxed frame that improves both stiffness and payload capabilities. In addition to that, the heavy-duty pickup truck is now offered with stronger rear springs, reinforced engine and transmission mounts, new upper and lower control arms and torsion bars for the front suspension. These enhancements increased the front axle weight rating up to 6,000 lb and made 4x4 versions capable of a snow plowing job. Another handful of small suspension upgrades are directed toward improved handling, quietness, and increased payload.

Whether you own a fuel-savvy Silverado 1500 or one of work-ready HD trucks, its maintenance, installation or replacement parts and, probably, customization are what you will be concerned about sooner or later. And with our 2011 Chevy Silverado parts and accessories, you don’t need to go any further. That’s because our 2011 Chevy Silverado accessories and parts collection is composed of aftermarket products that are way less expensive than the OE parts.
