The GMC Sierra enters the 2003 model year offering a broad range of upgrades, both inside and out. The truck now looks bolder thanks to a redesigned front end and more distinctive wheel designs. Almost all versions of the 2003 Sierra come with a new grille and new chrome front bumper featuring two airflow cutouts, with the only exception being the Sierra Denali. The new grille has a 3-horizontal-bar black design with a more prominent automaker’s logo. The base version of the new GMC Sierra comes with a light gray lower fascia, while higher trims feature a body-colored one. New body side moldings and a single roof antenna create a clean look.

The 2003 GMC Sierra employs an extensively upgraded braking system that now delivers improved feel and works quieter. In addition, it meets the FMVSS 135 requirements. Some of the key improvements are enhanced ABS performance and increased stopping power. Now you have to apply less pedal force for high deceleration stops. Vortec power plants employed by the Sierra were upgraded and now come with more efficient oxygen sensors and electronic throttle control as standard, providing enhanced driveability and fuel economy as well as lower emissions. A 4.3 L V6 engine now delivers smoother and longer-lasting performance along with decreased emissions thanks to standard multi-point fuel injection. A 5.3 L V8 is flexible fuel capable – it can operate on a mix of 85% ethanol.

The 2003 GMC Sierra comes with an extensively redesigned cab, providing enhanced refinement and comfort. The dashboard now features new switch controls, trim plates, ISO symbols instead of text, and more functional cluster that provides easier-to-read information. The cluster features a new driver info center that shows status of more than 27 functions on a single-line LCD screen. The cluster in the 2003 Sierra Denali has blue backlighting, black background, and white pointers emphasizing its premium character. A dual-zone HVAC system with manual controls is now standard for extended cab versions and optional for regular and crew cabs. It allows for individual temperature settings for the driver and front passenger. Standard on the Denali and available on other models, 8-button steering wheel controls permit calculations for fuel and trip info, provide secondary audio adjustments, and perform many other functions.

ProRYDE Torsion Bar Keys
The ProRYDE keys work exactly as described. I have an 03 Silverado Z71 1500 with 6" lift and a great big bumper with a 12,000 lb winch. My torsion bars were starting to sag a little so I purchased the ProRYDE adjustable keys. They work great. They are slightly clocked different than the stock keys and have much more adjustability due to the design. I'm very happy with my purchase.
