Ford F-53 2002-2003, TorqueTube™ Exhaust Header System by Banks®. Cast OEM exhaust manifolds just are too restrictive. Replacing them with Banks Torque Tubes will substantially reduce the backpressure where it counts, right at the exhaust ports. Instead of relying on the pressure of the exhaust gases forcing their way along the passages, these headers rely on a different principle altogether. They use one exhaust pulse hitting the collector to pull the next pulse along with it. This can dramatically improve cylinder scavenging, giving you improved power and torque. Banks' heavy-wall 400-series stainless TorqueTubes include two full exhaust manifold assemblies, each with a seamless high-velocity collector. Unlike the restrictive stock setup, Banks TorqueTubes literally "pull" out the exhaust, unleashing greater torque and helping the intake stroke to draw in more air. Includes all required hardware. This shorty style header is designed to fit perfectly, unless you have modified the vehicle in some way.
Banks uses a substantially thicker 5/8" flange for the manifold-to-cylinder head flanges than other header manufacturers. The pipes are welded on both sides of the flange for durability, and then the flange is machined for flatness. This absolutely true surface fits up against the head surface so precisely that there's no gasket! That eliminates a major cause of header failure from exhaust leaks, and even makes installation a breeze; no more juggling the header, the gaskets and the fasteners in only two hands.
