2001 Toyota Tundra

For the following couple of years after its introduction, the Toyota Tundra offers only a small amount of minor updates. The models powered by a V6 received an improved alternator. A new package offering a body-colored tailgate handle and bumpers is available for the Limited grade. Availability of the TRD Off-Road package was increased and now it’s also offered on V8-powered Access Cabs. The Base regular cab variant now comes without a cassette player, while SR5 and Limited trim levels can be fitted with a notepad holder. Some changes in available color options were made as well.

The 2001 Tundra offers a pair of strong engines. The base one is a 3.4 L V6 that serves up 190 hp; a more potent 4.7 L V8 generating 245 hp is offered as an option. The latter is paired with a 4-speed automatic, while the V6 can be also connected to a 5-speed manual. The 2001 Toyota Tundra is capable of carrying 2,000 lb and its towing capacity tops out at 7,200 lb. The truck features a friendly and comfortable interior providing easy ingress. In addition, it’s spacious – the Tundra offers more front legroom than any domestic pickup truck. Controls are placed well on the attractive dash, being easy to see and to reach. The model comes with dual front airbags, force limiters, side-impact beams, and an advanced seatbelt system, providing all-round protection.

The 2001 Toyota Tundra is available in two versions – a 2-door regular cab with an 8-ft bed and a 4-door Access Cab with a 6-ft-3” bed. The length of both body types is 217” and both utilize a 128” wheelbase. The Access cab, apart from two conventional front doors, comes with two rear-hinged doors. They have exterior handles but can be opened only after the front doors have already been opened. 2WD and 4WD versions of the 2001 Tundra are offered, both using similar suspensions. Its curved lines make the truck look sporty, while its bulging fenders add off-road appeal.

    Planned To Wear Out
Cheap aluminized tube portion will fail. Why doesnt walker incorporate 409 stainless tubing into this part, just like the OEM parts do. Planned failed design.
