2000 GMC Sierra Accessories & Parts

The GMC Sierra received the first portion of updates for the 2000 model year. Extended cab versions now can be optionally fitted with the fourth door on the driver's side. Optional 4.8 L and 5.3 L V8 engines were improved and now deliver higher output – the former can now generate 270 hp, while a bigger option is capable of producing 285 hp. The standard source of power is still a 4.3 L V6 good for 200 hp, while the line-topping option is a 6.0 L V8 that serves up 300 hp. A 5-speed manual is the standard transmission for the 2000 Sierra, with a 4-speed automatic offered as an option.

For 2000, the Sierra comes with an optional soft tonneau cover. SLE and SLT trim grades now have programmable door locks enabling you to customize their locking features and auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass. The top-of-the-line SLT trim level of the 1500 series also offers an optional Sportside cargo box. 4WD versions of the 2000 GMC Sierra can now be fitted with wheel flares. Two 4WD systems are available for the Sierra, being Autotrac and Insta-Trac. The latter allows you to activate and deactivate 4WD on the move, while the former automatically turns on 4WD on slippery surfaces; on smooth surfaces, all the power is provided to the rear wheels. ABS and heavy-duty discs on all corners are standard for the Sierra.

The 2000 GMC Sierra boasts the largest door openings and the most spacious cabin in the industry. Inside, there are large speedometer and tachometer gauges featuring attractive white-on-black graphics. The truck features 12V outlets for electronic devices at the bottom of the dash. The base SL grade comes with cloth seat trim and the front seats that also provide lumbar support. The SLE adds front air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and 16” steel wheels. The front seats can be fitted with heaters optionally. A lockable floor console is available as well.
